Wa’-tasimuu bi-HABLILLAAHI jamii-‘anw-wa laa tafar-raquu

Lessons 398 to 409

LESSON # 398 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Hold Fast The Cable Of Allah
Muslims Should Hold Fast The Cable Of God
Don’t Be Separate & Hold The Cable Fast
The Cable Of God Should Be Caught Fast
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –103a of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

And hold fast, all of you together, to the Cable of Allah, and do not separate,
Wa’-tasimuu  bi-Hablil-laahi  jamii-‘anw-wa  laa  tafar-raquu,

Lesson

Hablil-laahi  - (the Cable of Allah), besides literal meanings of Habl as cable it also means ‘covenant’, promise’ in Arabic language. Moreover, each that thing, which may be used as affinity, can be meant too with it. In this verse aim of bringing the word Hablil-laahi  is Holy Qur’an and Divine Law of Islam, holding of which is the source of success in this world and freedom on the Day of Judgment.

jamii-‘an  - (all together), that is to say; all the people of Muslim nation should hold fast the Cable of Allah Almighty with amity and alliance collectively.

‘A’-tasimuu  - (hold fast), ‘A’-tisaam means to hold fast and grasp strong. It desires that the Word be propped very strongly with intention and stability, be acted upon it and be made it aim of one’s life.

Allah Almighty has caused to know the policy in this verse. If that policy is adopted then the Muslim nation can escape from the conspiracies, evil and dissensions of the enemies. As that, if all of you together will hold fast the Holy Qur’an, Divine Islamic Law and will act upon it, then no devilish power may succeed against you, and no evildoer will be able to mislead and cause you to go astray.

In the previous verse, the persons of the nation were instructed that they all should better their own lives. They should live a life of God fearing and pious persons, remain living in Islam and die in Islam. Now it has been ordered to the Muslim Ummah in this verse that after setting their personal lives, hold fast, all of you together, to the Cable of Allah and do not separate. When it will be done so, then your collective lives will also be unshaken and will not be able to seize like your individual lives. Due to this act, the distracted powers assemble and a dead nation gets new life.

To hold fast the Holy Qur’an is ordered by Allah Almighty. It is such a recipe that by using it, the entire political, economical, social, moral and worldly evils of the nation run away. Holy Qur’an teaches the lesson of success in this world as well as it promises about honor and triumph in the Hereafter. Its teachings comprehend upon all points of view of the human life. The Word of Allah Almighty tells us solution of our entire individual and collective problems. Overall, it is a complete rule of life. Mystery of Success and exaltation of the Muslim nation is hidden in its following.

To hold fast the Holy Qur’an does not mean to hold it with hands only. Likewise, it does not aim to keep it in view each time that everything is labeled with it, its verses are searched for each desire and the object is attained by winning over their meanings.

LESSON # 399 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Brother-hood – Favor Of God Almighty
You Were Enemies, Allah Made You Friends
You Became Brothers With Allah’s Grace
God Saved You From the Brink Of Hell-fire
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –103b of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

And remember Allah’s favour unto you: How ye were enemies and He made friendship between your hearts so that ye became as brothers by His Grace; and (how) ye were upon the brink of an abyss of fire, and He did save you from it. Thus Allah maketh clear His Revelations unto you, that haply ye may be guided.
Waz-kuruu  ni’-matal-laahi  ‘alaykum  ‘iz  kuntum
‘a’-daaa-‘an-  fa-‘allafa  bayna  quluubikum  fa-‘asbahtum  bi-ni’-matihiii  ‘ikhwaanaa,  wa  kuntum  ‘alaa  shafaa  hufratim-minannaari  fa-‘anqa-zakum-minhaa.  Kazaalika  yuba-yyinul-laahu  lakum  ‘aayaatihii  la-‘al-lakum  tahtaduun.

Lesson

Before Islam, the inhabitants of Arab were ignorant, impolite and incautious in manners. They were fallen into idol worship, polytheism, malice and obstinacy. A brother was enemy of the other. The wars and bloodsheds were at increase. Events of theft and highway robbery were common. In short, these people used to pass their lives like beasts of prey, falling down from the grade of humanity.

In these circumstances, Mercy of Allah Almighty boiled up. His Light disclosed. The Last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) came for the guidance of the humankind, who purified the human beings from the entire rudeness, guided them towards goodness and happiness, and made them brothers of one another.

Above-mentioned verse signifies towards such Bounty and favor of Allah Almighty. He is reminding the Muslims His Beneficence. He made them intimate friends and sympathizers of each other by discharging hundreds of the years old malice and enmities from the hearts of the people with His Management. He collected them upon one religion due to which such trust established that their enemies were overawed feeling their unity. This society and unity are too much big Graciousness of Allah Almighty, which could not be gotten by the Muslims by spending their entire treasures.

Allah Almighty exemplified it to manifest the life before Islam that the people were standing upon the brink of an abyss of fire (Hell) due to Infidelity and denial, and they were near to destruction. Allah Almighty saved you encroaching and bestowed the Light of Belief through His Last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). If the people remember these magnificent religious and worldly kindnesses of Allah Almighty, then they will never return astray. For this reason, Allah Almighty has described His tokens and verses openly, and signified the life of dissensions as the Hell.

LESSON # 400 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Duties Of A Group Who Invite To Goodness
A Nation Who Invite To Virtue
Enjoin Right Conduct and Forbid The Wrong
‘Amr Bil-Ma’-ruuf wa Nahii ‘Anil-Munkar
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –104 of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

And there may spring from you a nation who invite to goodness, and enjoin right conduct and forbid the wrong. And such are they who are successful.
Wal-takum-minkum  ‘Umma-tuny-yad-‘uuna  ‘ilal-khayri  wa  ya’-muruuna  bil-ma’-ruufi  wa  yanhawna  ‘anil-munkar.  Wa ‘ulaaa-‘ika  humul-mufli-huun.

Lesson

It has been described by Allah Almighty in this verse that abstinence, alliance and concordance in national life, Islamic brother-hood and other common excellence may remain till then, until a group from the Muslims stand firm for inviting and carrying the message of Islam to non-believers. They would call the world towards the Holy Qur’an and the traditions of Last Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him) with their words and deeds. And when they feel that the people are disregarding the goodness and have involved in the badness, then they should cause to turn their attention towards the virtue, enjoin the right conduct and forbid them from the evil.

It is clear that this work can be done only by those people who may distinguish between good and bad, aware perfectly of the teachings of Holy Qur’an and they should also be able to look for the opportunity. Otherwise, it is also possible that either an uncivilized/ignorant person will create more infringement instead of correction by supposing the goodness as badness and the badness as goodness, or he may adopt any such method, which may cause to increase their infidelity.

Existence of such group has remained in every time and period, which has been trying its best to invite the people to goodness, enjoin the right conduct and forbid them from belief in a plurality of Allah Almighty, idolatry, infidelity, irreligious and worship of superstition. Islam has been spreading only due to their cause, while the depravity, opposition, mischief and brawl are spreading commonly. Essentially, this type of group should be supported, more and more people should be connected with it. They should perform following three duties bringing their full possible means in function with complete exertion and earnestness:

Da’-wah ‘ilal-khayri -  (invitation towards the goodness), through carrying the Message of Islam to non-believers.

‘Amr  bil-ma’-ruufi  - (enjoining the right conduct), to spread the goodness imperatively, put the public on the path of goodness.
Nahii  ‘anil-munkar  - (to forbid the wrong), to stop the badness and evils from the nation and the state with an explicit command.

As though it is the duty of the chastiser group to invite the people towards goodness, enjoin the right conduct and forbid the wrong with full strength and power practically.

 LESSON # 401 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
The Schism In Islam
Schism Is Prohibited
Do Not be Separate
Awful Doom Is For Them Who Separated
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –105 of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

And be ye not as those who separated and disputed after the clear proofs had come unto them. And for such there is an awful doom-
Wa  laa  takuunuu  kalla-ziina tafarraquu  wakhtalafuu  mim- ba’-di  maa  jaaa-‘ahumul-Bayyi-naat.  Wa  ‘ulaaa-‘ika  lahum  ‘azaabun  ‘aziim,

Lesson

Importance of the existence and establishment of a group had been cleared in the previous verse. Who would have to perform the duties of Da’-wah ‘ilal-khayr (invitation towards the goodness), ‘Amr  bil-ma’-ruufi  (enjoining the right conduct) and Nahii  ‘anil-munkar (to forbid the wrong), save the Muslims from evil and rebellion of the Infidels and the obstinate. It is the duty of true and sincere Muslim to join this group. Now it is commanded that ‘you must not be like those people who put the separation among themselves and divided into sects of the religion, whereas, they had known the fact.

The people who separated and put the Ummah in the divisions of sects of the religion were the Jews and the Christians, who had received clear and unambiguous commandments of Allah Almighty. Nevertheless, they put the differences in the principles of Islamic law just by following the superstitions and greed, which resulted that they were ruined and the torment of Allah descended upon them.

This verse proved that due to separation in the religion, how much horrible and terrible results appear, while Allah Almighty illuminates the path of truth and righteousness clearly. Certain evil natured and insurrected people disrupt in the religion due to following the sensual desires, worship of the wealth and the greed. Likewise, it weakens the collective strength, teachings of the religion cannot spread, each sect conspires to finish the other among themselves and resultantly their freedom and national existence wipes out from the face of the earth nationally and religiously.

Entire destructive results of the separation are in front of us but Alas! Today the Muslims have also been divided into many sects. They are gathering destructive provision for themselves by separating from the clear and unambiguous principles of Islamic law. Thanks Allah Almighty that despite this Vandalism, there are some such groups in the Muslims which consist the pious and the sincere people, who are performing the duties of ‘Amr  bil-ma’-ruufi  (enjoining the right conduct) and Nahii  ‘anil-munkar (to forbid the wrong). May Allah Almighty give more strength to these groups and make us able to join them and to do good deeds.

LESSON # 402 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
The Blackened Faces
Disbelievers Will Taste The Punishment
The Wicked Persons
The Evil Doers
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –106 of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

On the Day when (some) faces will be whitened and (some) faces will be blackened; and as for those whose faces have been blackened, it will be said unto them: Disbelieved ye after your (profession of) belief? Then taste the punishment for that ye disbelieved.
Yawma  tab-yazzu  wujuu-hunw-wa  taswaddu  wujuuh,  fa-‘ammallazii-naswaddat
wu-juu-huhum  ‘akafartum-  ba’-da  ‘iimaanikum  fazuuqul-‘azaaba  bimaa  kuntum
takfuruun.

Lesson

It has been mentioned earlier that human deeds are not wasted. Their appearance remains permanent. They are enumerated by Allah Almighty. The faces of the people will disclose their deeds on the Day of Judgment. The persons who would have passed their lives with good deeds, the Light of Belief and God fearing will be shining upon their faces. Their faces will become white. They will be in much respect and dignity, and seen very pleasure. Contrary to them, those persons who remained involved in evils and sins throughout their lives in this world, lead in evil-working and black deeds, at that time their faces will become black with blackness of their infidelity, immorality, adulteration and hypocrisy. As it were, the face of every person will become mirror of his/her inside.

Allah Almighty will ask each infidel, Hypocrite and Renegade, “Did you become Infidel after believing, why did you adopt infidelity in substitution of Faith”? Those people would not have any reply of this question. Their heads will bow due to shame and repentance. They will fall in the abyss of disgrace and infamy, and they will be caused to hear the command of punishment. In retaliation of the infidelity, they will fall in the severe anguish and enter into the Hell, where they will remain and rot forever.

It is the condition of the Hereafter, where each person would have to clear the accounts of his/her entire life of this world, where he/she will get permanent either reward or punishment. But each person would have to face the results of his/her deeds in this world too. Moreover, their faces are mirrored of their lives. If any person commits evil, then the evils begin to show themselves upon his/her face. The tokens of humiliation and bashfulness appear. On the contrary, as the result of the goodness, he/she gets the fame and gloriousness. The people calling out aloud say, “he/she is of the Paradise, the Light rains on his/her face, the illumination glitters from one’s eyes”. His/her forehead becomes glorious.

LESSON # 403 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
The Whitened Faces
Believers Will Dwell In The Mercy of Allah
The Fortunate Persons
Faces Of The Righteous
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –107 of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

And as for those whose faces have been whitened, lo! in the Mercy of Allah they dwell for ever.
Wa   ‘ammal-laziinab-yaz-zat   wujuuhuhum  fafii rahma-tillaah.  Hum   fiihaa
khaaliduun.

Lesson

After describing the result of infidels and deniers in the previous verse, now the condition of those people is being explained, whose faces will be whitened with the Light of Faith and Piety on the Day of Resurrection.  Allah Almighty will let them entered in His Mercy and provide the place in the House of pleasure and comfort.

The real truth of any matter becomes conspicuous by comparing. Therefore, value of the righteousness appears when vicious results of badness would have been cleared. Moreover, the value of the whiteness increases when taken a look at the blackness. Hence, these two types of verses accompany. In the former verse, it has been described that the people, who either didn’t embrace Islam even after listening to the invitation of the last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him) and the Holy Qur’an, or they just admitted by tongue the Truth of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him), but heartily they remained infidels and in spite of believing in the good news of earlier Scripture, they had been falsifying the Prophet of Islam (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him). Allah Almighty will punish them severely.

Now those people are being mentioned, who accepted Islam by their true nature. They believed in Allah Almighty, admitted the Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him) as a true and the last Messenger, put the teachings of Holy Quran and the tradition of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) into practice. Allah Almighty will bring them to the Heaven. Every kind of Blessings is present there. They will live there for endless period. They will never be destroyed there.

Allah Almighty compares between the Believer and the Infidel, the Heaven and the Hell, so that the sensible people would have to learn from it and become eligible for the Heaven in the Hereafter by passing good-working life in this world. Nevertheless, commonly the human being tries to collect the worldly benefits because he has no more belief in Allah Almighty and the Day of Judgment. Perhaps he considers that these things have no reality. Otherwise, it can never be possible that even after such palpable and clear explanation, any person goes towards the badness in spite of the goodness, does not think the lie as a lie and sin as a sin, and remains engaged in plundering and ravaging unlawfully, and be present in the Court of Allah Almighty after becoming disgraced. May Allah Almighty save us from the disgrace, bestow us success in the world and the Hereafter, even if we face some difficulties and sufferings in the world, give us courage to bear with them, so that the permanent and endless life of the Hereafter would not effect.

 LESSON # 404 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Verses Of Holy Qur’an Are True
The Word Of Allah Is A Universal Truth
There Is No Doubt In The Truth Of Holy Qur’an
Such Word Of God, Which Could Not Be Changed By Anyone
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –108 & 109 of 200, Section –11    (Part – 4)

108.  There are Revelations of Allah, We recite them unto thee in truth. And Allah willeth no injustice to (His) creatures.

109.  Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in heavens and whasoever is in the earth. And unto Allah all things are returned.
108.  Tilka  ‘Aayaa-tullaahi  nat-luuhaa  ‘alayka  bil-Haqq.  Wa mallaahu  yuriidu  zul- mal-lil-‘aalamiin.

  109.   Wa  lillaahi  maa fis-samaa-waati  wa  maa  fil-‘arz.  Wa  ‘ilal-laahi  turja-‘ul-‘umuur.
]
Lesson

Good qualities of the Muslims and bad qualities of the Infidels were discussed in the previous lessons including their end. Now it is being commanded strictly, “Don’t consider these entire Words (Holy Qur’an) as a lie. These are quite true and right, which We cause to hear you through Our Messenger” (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him). Allah Almighty does not desire to tyrannize His creatures in any form. The meanings of the tyranny should not be taken here as we use them in common. Because Allah Almighty does not do as we do in this world. According to our imagination, there may be four kinds of the tyranny:

If Allah Almighty sends such severe orders, purpose of them is to molest only.
That, the person is punished, who deserves His Mercy.
That, the person is punished much severely, who committed a little sin.
That, the person is not remunerated properly according to his/hers goodness.

Allah Almighty will never tyrannize like above four tyrannies, because His each Order is only for the training of human beings and His each matter is suitable exactly according to philosophy and advisability.

The earth, the skies and the entire existing of the world are in His hand. Therefore, there is no question regarding tyrannizing and injustice. Allah Almighty is the Creator of all the creatures. He fulfills their requirements. Their life, death, Prosperity, misery, pain and pleasure depend on Him.  Indeed, there are so many kinds of torments, which the human being has to meet with. He has to face many difficulties, calamities and misfortunes, and he has to go also through many tests. At that time, he considers that the mountains have attacked upon him. He begins to curse his fate. It is the fact that Allah Almighty never tyrannizes anyone. A humankind should keep the forbearance and be settled on the virtue. He should remain steadfast on the right path and pray from Allah Almighty for himself always that his feet do not tremble.

LESSON # 405 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
The Best Community
Raised Up For The Mankind
Enjoin The Right Conduct
Forbid The Wrong And Believe In Allah
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –110a of 200, Section –12    (Part – 4)

Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind, ye enjoin right conduct and forbid the wrong; and ye believe in Allah.
kuntum  khayra ‘ummatin  ‘ukhrijat linnaasi  ta’-muruuna  bil-ma’-ruufi  wa  tan-hawna ‘anil-munkari  wa  tu’-minuuna  billaah.

Lesson

In the beginning of previous section it was commanded that “Yaaa-‘ayyuhal-laziina  ‘aa-manut-taqullaaha  haqqa  tuqaa-tihii”   (O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance). Some such matters were explained during the description, about which Allah Almighty ordered to do them. Moreover, some such matters were discussed which were forbidden by Him. Then reward for the righteous people and the punishment for the sinners was mentioned. Again, the subject is being turned towards the beginning. That is to say; “O Muslims! Allah Almighty has declared you as the best community out of the entire communities. It had been destined in His knowledge that you would get excellence over all other communities. Moreover, this news had been delivered to the former Prophets (peace be upon them). As the Last Prophet, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is the most distinguished of the Prophets (peace be upon them), likewise his (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) community is also the most distinguished and superior of all the other communities and nations. Because this nation has been bestowed the noblest Messenger ((grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), the most comprehensive and perfect religious law, and the doors of Knowledge and Science have been opened for it.

khayra ‘ummatin –  (best community) the Muslim Nation was given the title of khayra ‘ummatin  too besides the Moderate Nation, the Community of Abraham and several other honorable  titles.

ukhrijat linnaasi – (raised up for mankind) means that this community will bring the entire nations of the world at the door of Faith by preaching and inviting the people. It will forbid the wrong deeds. This Muslim nation will prevent the people from bad deeds by the tongue, the hand, the pen and by the sword. Each type of strife and struggle, and a Muhammadan religious war (Jihad) is obligatory upon it.

One more characteristic of this best nation has been described here that it believes in Allah Almighty. All good qualities, which are found in the Muslim nation with the correct management, those were not held in any previous nation. The Companion Umer (May Allah be pleased with him) said, “whoever of you wants to join this nation (the best of nations), he should fulfill it’s all conditions, means ‘Amr  bil-ma’-ruufi, (enjoining the right conduct) and Nahii  ‘anil-munkar(to forbid the wrong), and Believe in Allah. It can happen so, at that time, when each person will dress himself first because he cannot correct others without dressing itself.

LESSON # 406 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Advice To The People Of The Scripture
Believing Is Better Than Evildoing
Some Of Them Are Believers
Nobody Can Harm Someone Save A Triffling Hurt
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –110b & 111 of 200, Section –12    (Part – 4)

110b.  And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers.

111.  They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. Then they will not be helped.
110b.  Wa  law  ‘aamana  ‘Ahlul-Kitaabi  lakaana  khayral-lahum.  Min-humul-mu’-minuuna  wa  ‘aksaru-humul-faasiquun.

111.  Lany-yazurruukum  ‘illaaa  ‘azaa. Wa  ’iny-yuqaatiluukum  yu-walluukumul-‘adbaar. Summa  laa  yunsaruun.

Lesson

‘illaaa  ‘azaa – (save a trifling hurt) it means that the Jews will either abuse, or reproach with their tongues or will cause any other trifling hurt. They can not harm you more than this.

Allah Almighty commanded the People of the Scripture in this verse, “If you had believed, it had been better for you, like this you also could join the khayral  ‘ummam  (the best of the nations). You would be honored in the world and got reward in the Hereafter. But Alas! None of them accepted Islam besides a few persons {for example Abdullah bin Salaam or Negus (the Emperor of Abyssinia) etc}. Despite becoming the truth obvious, they stuck disobedience.

Most people of them are disobedient. Allah Almighty says, “O Muslims! You must not be afraid due to looking either their more number of people or materially arms and equipment”. It is promise by Allah that these disobedient will not harm you on the condition that you prove yourself the best of nations in right meanings. These people at most can just abuse with tongue, or say you bad things or cause trifling hurt. They neither can overcome you, nor can cause you any big trouble. Be sure that if they would compete you in fight, they will turn and flee and they will not get any help. They will disgrace bearing defeat.

This foretelling of Holy Qur’an came exactly true. In times of Companions of Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) the People of Scripture congregate like this. They tried hard for destruction of Islam and Muslims but could not harm Muslims. Wherever they competed, ran away after defeating. And at every occasion Allah Almighty helped Muslims.

LESSON # 407 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Ignominy For The People Of The Scripture
Incurred Anger from Allah
Wretchedness Is Laid Upon Them
Displeasure Of God For People Of The Scripture
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –112a of 200, Section –12    (Part – 4)

Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found save (where they grasp) a rope from Allah and a rope from men. They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them.
Zuribat  ‘alayhimuz-zillatu  ‘ayna  maa  suqifuuu ‘illaa  bi-Hablim-minallaahi  wa  Hablim-minannaasi  wa  baaa-‘uu  bi  gazabim-minallaahi  wa zuribat  ‘alay-himul-maskanah.

Lesson

Zuribat  – {grievous hurt, is stroke, shall be (their) portion} this Arabic word is also used besides above meanings as “to walk, toffix and to impose.. ”. It has been used for these three meanings in the Holy Qur’an too. Here it has been used as the last meanings of ‘affixed’ or ‘imposed’ (ignominy upon them).

Zillatun- (Ignominy), this word is commonly used for humiliation and disgrace. Some disgraced people and nations remain deprived of respect and honor despite their knowledge, wealth and independence. The disgrace and the humiliation surround them.

Hablim-minallaahi  - (a rope or promise from Allah), means unless these people will not make the Divine law of Islam theirs’ own and follow Allah’s Instructions, ignominy will not be kept away from them. (for more explanation please read lesson # 398).

Hablim-minannaasi  - (a rope or promise from the people) second condition is fixed that if it is not so, then they would have to enter in the articles of agreement with the human beings. Until when they will not get the support of other nations, will not be able to get rid of the disgrace and humiliation.

baaa-‘uu  bi  gazabim-minallaahi  -  (They have incurred anger from their Lord), means they came in the fold of Allah’s wrath due to their evil doings and bad deeds, Divine wrath imposed upon them.

‘al-maskanah -  (wretchedness) poverty and indigence are also forms of anger and wrath of Allah. The financial misery and the economic breakdown are main causes of disgrace themselves of any nation.

LESSON # 408 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
Causes Of Anger From Their Lord
Lot Of The Disbelievers Is Ignominy
Reasons Of God’s Anger
Correction On Account Of Disbelief
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –112b of 200, Section –12    (Part – 4)

That is because they used to disbelieve the Revelations of Allah, and slew the Prophets wrongfully. That is because they were disobedient and used to transgress.

Lesson

The mention of a nation, who earned the anger of Allah Almighty (the Jews), is being made continuously. Following various forms of Divine’s wrath was described in the first part of this verse:

Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found.

They have incurred anger from their Lord. Sovereignty, independence and freedom are not in their luck.

Wretchedness, poverty and bankruptcy are laid upon them.

There are only two forms to escape from this wrath of the Most Strong Ruler (Allah Almighty):

1.   If they grasp (hold fast) the rope of Allah Almighty, follow the Divine law of religion and become His slaves (servants).

2.   If they make treaty and promise with other People and nations, and come in with their support.

In this part of the verse, Allah Almighty commands that there are four causes of this situation:

1.   They used to disbelieve the Revelations of Allah Almighty, it  means that they used to falsify the Commandments of God Almighty. The signs and miracles, which were revealed, they did not accept them too.

2.   They slew the Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them). Slaughtering of the Prophets (peace be upon them) was not such a minor crime but they committed this crime without any particular reason.

3.   They made the evil and the disobedience as their national custom.

4.   They used to transgress, it aims that they crossed the Divine’s limits and did not remain bound in the limits of the laws.

Entire history of the Jews is evident upon such analysis of their national life. Establishment of the so-called state of Israel itself is living proof of the truth of God's Word.

LESSON # 409 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
All The People Of The Scripture Are Not Alike
Some People Of The Scripture Are Pious
A Few Of The People Of The Scripture Recite Qur’an
Certain Learned Persons Fall Prostrate Before Allah
Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse –113 of 200, Section –12    (Part – 4)

They are not all alike. Of the People of the Scripture there is a staunch community who recite the Revelations of Allah in the hours of night, falling prostrate (before Him).
Laysuu  sawaaa-‘aa.  Min  ‘Ahlil-Kitaabi  ‘ummatun-  qaaa-‘imatuny-yat-luuna  ‘Aa-yaatillaahi  ‘aanaaa-‘al-lay-li  wa  hum  yasjuduun.

Lesson

In the previous lessons, the religious condition, social, economical and political circumstances, and after life result of the People of the Scripture have been checked. Due to one sentence of these verses, the Muslims were taken in for a long time (they remained in deception).

Allah Almighty commanded, “They have earned anger from their Lord and provoked”. The Muslims took from it that ‘the Jews have been bereaved of sovereignty and kingdom forever. They will never become the king of any state/government’.

In May 1949, an Empire named Israel established with the support of United States of America, United Kingdom and Russia (then Union of Soviet Socialist Republic) upon a small part of holy land Palestine. Now the Muslims imagined, “How did it happen so?” whereas, Allah Almighty had commanded them in these verses clearly that they might escape only in two forms from the wrath, disgrace and wretchedness. Either they grasp (hold fast) the rope of Allah Almighty or make an agreement with other people and nations, and get their support. It is a universal truth that the so-called State of Israel exists; her existence depends upon the base of enmity by other Sovereignty, which suppose the Muslims as their own enemies. Individually the Jews have not too much ability to stand at their own feet.

It is being commanded in this verse, “You should not consider the Jews and the Christians equal. Some of them are pious persons also. Their three qualities are being described here. Remaining will be discussed in succeeding verse:

1.   There is a staunch community (who are on the straight path).

2.    They recite the Revelations of Allah Almighty in the hours of night and in the silence of night.

3.   They also fall prostrate before Allah Almighty.
