LESSON # 83 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Raising Objections In The Commands Of God
Verse – 68 to 71 of 286, Section – 8 (Part  - 1)
68.  They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us what (cow) she is. (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith: Verily she is a cow neither with calf nor immature. (She is) between the twoconditions. So do that which ye are commanded.

69.  They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us of what colour she is. (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith:   Verily she is a yellow cow, bright is her colour, gladdening beholders.

70.  They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us what (cow) she is. Lo! Cows are much alike to us. And Lo! If Allah wills, we may be led aright.

71.  (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith: Verily she is a cow unyoked; she plougheth not the soil nor watereth the tilth; whole and without mark. They said: Now thou bringest the truth. So they sacrificed her, though they has not the mind to do (it).
68.  Qaalud-‘u lanaa Rabbaka yubayyil-lanaa maa hii.  Qaala ‘innahuu yaquulu ‘innahaa baqaratul-laa faarizunw-wa laa bikr.  ‘Awaanum- bayna zaalik. Faf-‘aluu maa tu’-maruun.

69.  Qaalud-‘u lanaa  Rabbaka Yubayyil-lanaa maa law-nuhaa. Qaala  ‘innahuu yaquulu  ‘in-nahaa baqaratun-  saf-raaa-‘u, faaqi-‘ul-lawnuhaa  tasurrun-naaziriin.

70.  Qaalud-‘u  lanaa Rabbaka yubayyil-lanaa maa  hiya.  ‘in-nal-baqara tashaabaha ‘alayna.  Wa  ‘innaaa  ‘in-shaaa-‘al-laahu  la-muhtaduun.

71.  Qaala  ‘innahuu yaquulu ‘innahaa  baqaratul-laa- zaluu-lun-tusiirul-‘arza  wa laa tasqil-hars.  Musallamatul-laa shiyata  fiihaa.  Qaalul-‘aana ji’-ta  bil-haqq.   Fazabahuuhaa wa maa kaaduu yaf-‘aluun.

Lesson

Maa hii – (what she is) When the children of Israel were commanded to sacrifice a cow, they began to argue and reasoning absurdly. Their first question was about her age. (What is the cow’s age?).
Faarizun – (a cow not with calf, not to much old)
Bikr – (immature cow)
‘Awaanum – (between) (neither with calf nor immature – between the two conditions)

Commands of the God Almighty and His Prophets (peace be upon Them) are not without wisdom and philosophy. However it is not necessary that each person may understand them. So nobody should argue or hesitate obeying Them and each person should act upon Their orders/instructions.

In the beginning each order/instruction/law was simple and easy but due to making differences too small to be important the orders and laws became difficult and complicated.

God Almighty commanded through the Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) to sacrifice a cow. It was entirely a straight and simple order. Children of Israel had to sacrifice any cow. But they argued and used to ask question over questions, so they created difficulties for themselves. After asking first question they became bound about the age of the cow. Then they asked second question’ “what would be colour of the cow”. Now they raised some other difficulty for themselves. Actually they were trying to evade the order. But as they were trying to evade they were drowning in the more difficult situation. They did not understand that how much advisability and secrets are hidden in His orders.

Then they asked again, “What (cow) she is. Lo! Cows are much alike to us. And Lo! If Allah wills, we may be led aright.” Now some other restriction was composed upon them, “Verily she is a cow unyoked; she plougheth not the soil nor watereth the tilth; whole and without mark”.

Then they said, “Yes! Now you have told us the right”. In short after a lot of arguments they sacrificed the cow. Even now it was being felt from their behavior that they might not do so. Though, even now they obeyed the command of God Almighty unavoidably.

LESSON # 84 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Bring The Dead To Life
Verse – 72 & 73 of 286, Section – 9 (Part  - 1)
72.  And (remember) when ye slew a man and disagreed concerning it and Allah brought forth that which ye were hiding.

73.  So We said: Smite him with some of it. Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His portents so that ye may understand.
72.  Wa  ‘iz  qataltum nafsan-faddaara’ tum  fiihaa.  Wallaahu mukhrijun-maa  kuntum  tak-tumuun.

73.  Faqul-nazribuuhu  bi-ba’-zi-haa.  Kazaalika  yuhyil-laahul-mawtaa, wa yuriikum  ‘Aayaati-hii  la-‘allakum  ta’qiluun.

Lesson

Faddaara’-tum – (then you disagreed, accused/charged each other).

Summary of the previous verses has been stated in these verses. As we have discussed formerly that a person was killed out of the children of Israel but the killer was not traceable because the doubtful people were trying to charge/accuse each other and disagreed concerning it.

The God Almighty commanded the children of Israel to sacrifice a cow for knowing the name of killer. They evaded. When after making much tricks and excuses they prepared to sacrifice the cow, the God Almighty commanded them now to smite the dead body with a piece of meat of that cow. As soon as the piece of meat was smitten to the killed, he returned to life and told the name and address of his killer. So a great problem was resolved obeying the commands of God Almighty. The killed expired again after telling about his murderer.

The God Almighty also taught the people, “It is in My Power to bring the dead to life again”. As the murdered told about his first life’s incidents after getting life again, like him all the human beings will be brought to life again. Then each person will give evidence himself about his own deeds.

These advices and happenings are being told by the God Almighty to all the human beings so that we think about them and correct our lives. We should take lesson from the happenings and incidents of previous nations, and get it as warning for us.

LESSON # 85 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Callous Of Jews
Verse – 74 of 286, Section – 9 (Part  - 1)
Then, even after that, your hearts
were hardened and became as rocks, or worse than rocks, for hardness. For indeed there are some rocks from which rivers gush, and indeed there are rocks which split asunder so that water floweth from them. And indeed there are rocks which fall down for the fear of Allah. And Allah is not Unaware of what ye do.
Summa qasat quluubukum-mim-ba’-di  zaalika fahiya kal-hijaarati ‘aw  ‘ashaddu qaswah.  Wa ‘inna  minal-hijaarati  lamaa yatafajjaru  minhul-‘anhaar.  Wa  ‘inna minhaa lamaa yash-shaqqaqu fa-yakhruju minhul-maaa’.  Wa    ‘inna minhaa lamaa yahbitu min khash-yatil-laah. Wa mallaahu bi-gaafilin ‘ammaa ta’-maluun.

Lesson

In the previous verses God Almighty commanded about some happenings in the history of the children of Israel to take lesson from which we may know that they remained involved in different kinds of evil-doings and disobediences. God Almighty used to forgive them but they even then did not take lesson. As though their hearts were hardened and became as rocks, or worse than rocks, for hardness, because there are some rocks which are useful and advantageous for the creature of the Creator, some rocks are from which rivers and springs gush and the people get water for their personal use, for their animals, for their crops. Hence every field of life needs water, there is no conception of life without it and that is the great favour of God Almighty Who provides us through rocks.

And indeed there are some rocks which fall down from the peaks of the mountains as they are falling in the prostration for the fear of Allah Almighty.

The commentators of the religion have made comments that example of the rocks from which rivers and springs gush is like the Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon Them) in the population of human beings. Due to their springs of favour and kindness the persons (the creature of God) extinguish their spiritual thirst. Example of the second kind of rocks is like the saints of God Almighty. Many people are used to benefit and bless from them. Like them there are the Believers and Righteous persons who if may not guide and correct others, even then their own faith and act remains sound.

Neither the children of Israel obtained advantage from the teachings of  Prophets (peace be upon Them), nor they listened the advice of the servants of God Almighty, as if their hearts were hardened and became as rocks, or worse than rocks, for hardness on which no speech becomes effective.  And Allah Almighty is not Unaware of what all the persons do.

LESSON # 86 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Transposition Of Words Of God
Verse – 75 of 286, Section – 9 (Part  - 1)
Have ye any hope that they will be true to you when a party of them used to listen to the word of Allah, then used to change it, after they had understood it, knowingly
‘Afa-tatma-‘uuna  ‘any-yu’-minuu  lakum  wa qad kaana fariiqum-minhum yasma-‘uuna  Kalaamallaahi summa yuharri-fuunahuu mim-ba’-di maa ‘aqaluuhu wa hum ya’-lamuun.

Lesson

Tatma-‘uuna – (you have any hope) this word is derived from Tama’a. Usual meanings of Tama’a are ‘to long for’, ‘to have greed’ and also it means ‘to hope’, ‘to expect’. Here it aims towards the last meanings.

Yuharri-fuunahuu – (they used to change it) matter of this word is harafa and infinitive mood is tahriif, that means ‘change’. There are two ways of the change:

•        Literal change (to change the words, to change its pronunciation so that reality of the word may be changed. For instance the Jews used to speak the words ‘hintatun’ instead of ‘hittatun’ and ‘ra-iina’ instead of ‘raa-‘ina’).

•        Significant change (to change the meanings of the words – in translation and explanation).

God Almighty after telling the important happenings in the history of the children of Israel commands in the previous verse that these people will not admit/recognize any warning from these speeches because their hearts have become harder than rocks. Exemplary happenings have no effects on their hearts.

In this verse God Almighty admonishes the Muslims, “Do you wish that they will agree upon your talk whereas out of their elders during the time of Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) and after them also there was a party used to change intentionally after listen the speech of God Almighty. While it was the condition of their elders then; Have you any hope that they will be true to you? How can you expect from them for goodness? They are ill-disposed people. They will never believe.

It appears from the God Almighty’s this proclamation that the Muslims should not have much expectation of accepting Islam by the Jews.

LESSON # 87 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Treachery Of Jews
Verse – 76 of 286, Section – 9 (Part  - 1)
And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe. But when they go apart one with another they say: Prate ye to them of that which Allah hath disclosed to you that they may contend with you before your Lord concerning it? Have ye then no sense?
Wa ‘izaa laqullaziina ‘aa-manuu qaaluuu ‘aamannaa. Wa ‘izaa khalaa ba’-zuhum ‘ilaa ba’zin- qaaluuu ‘a-tuhad-di-suunahum- bimaa fatahallaahu ‘alaykum  li-yuhaaaj-juukum-bihii ‘inda Rabbikum. ‘Afalaa ta’-qiluun.

Lesson

Li-yuhaaaj-juukum-bihii – (they may contend with you concerning it) hajaj is the matter of haaaj-juu. The word hujjat is also made from it that means proof, argument and reason. Meanings of this entire sentence are, “to make it proof and argue with this source”. The Jews who did tranposition in the Holy Books Torah, used to say their hypocrite friends, “you give proofs to the Muslims against yourself telling them the teachings of your Book”.

It is being mentioned from here about the Jews who were Hypocrites. Whenever these people met cordially with the Muslims, they used to disclose their faith upon the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him) and to win their favour used to tell them all the foretellings and emblems for authentication and support of the Last Messenger (peace and blessings be upon Him) which were held in their Religious Book.

But whenever these Jews used to meet each other, they used to censure one another, “why you have provided the weapons against yourselves telling your teachings to the Muslims. The Muslims will use these proofs against you and making certificates to your own talks they will give evidence against you in front of the God Almighty that the Jews did not return to the real religion whether they had known every thing”. As though, these fools were supposing that Muslims can know these matters only through the Jews. They do not know that God Almighty can expose their all the matters (open or hidden) in front of the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him) and the Muslims any time.

LESSON # 88 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
False Hopes
Verse – 77 to 79 of 286, Section – 9 (Part  - 1)
(Part One-half upto verse-78)
77.  Are they then unaware that Allah knoweth that which they keep hidden and that which they claim?

78.  Among them are unlettered folk who know the scripture not except from hearsay. They but guess.

79.  Therefore woe be unto those who write the Scripture with their hands, then say, “This is from Allah,” that they may purchase a small gain therewith. Woe unto them for that their hands have written, and woe unto them for that they earn thereby!
77. ‘Awalaa ya’-lamuuna ‘an-nallaaha ya’-lamu maa yusir-ruuna wa maa yu’-linuun.

78.  Wa minhum ‘Ummiyyuu-na laa ya’-lamuunal-Kitaaba ‘illaaa ‘amaaniyya wa ‘in hum ‘illaa yazunnuun.

79.  Fa-waylul-lilaziina yaktu-buunal-Kitaaba  bi-‘aydiihim summa yaquuluuna haazaa min ‘indillaahi li-yashtaruu bihii samanan-qaliilaa. Fa-waylul-lahum-mimmaa kata-bat ‘aydiihim wa waylul-lahum-mimmaa yaksibuun.

Lesson

‘Amaaniyya – (false hopes, hearsay) its singular is ‘umniah. This word is used in two meanings; (1) as like hope which does not have any reality and some persons remain cheerful only in false notions.  (2)  Anybody remains fallen in false traditions and absurdities. There are a lot of instances of resemblances like this in the history of Jews, for example their false notions that nobody will go into the Paradise except them.

Samanan – (price, cost, value) meanings of this word are not only the net cash or cash price but anything which will be gotten as reward or remuneration for any other thing, that will be its samanan. In this verse samanan means worldly reward or remuneration.

Mimmaa yaksibuun – (out of their earnings) in this verse it has two meanings; (1) Pile of their sins – because of increasing their sins due to these mischieves constantly.
(2). which financial reward or remuneration these persons achieve due to change or alteration/transposition.

Illiterate class of the Jews did not know that what has been written in the Holy Book Torah. They were aware of only a few false expectations, hopes and desires, which they had listened from their forefathers and expected that their ancestors will get them forgiven from their sins.

God Almighty commands that the people who change His Orders and say that it is the order of God Almighty, for them there is much badness.

LESSON # 89 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Contractors Of The Paradise
Verse – 80 of 286, Section – 9 (Part  - 1)

And they say: The Fire (of punishment) will not touch us save for a certain number of days. Say: Have ye received a covenant from Allah -- truly Allah will not break His covenant---or tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not?
Wa qaaluu lan tamassanan-Naaru ‘illaaa ‘ayyaamam-ma’-duudah. Qul ‘attakhaztum ‘indallaahi ‘ahdan- falany-yukhlifallaahu ‘ahdahuuu ‘am taquuluuna ‘alallaahi maa laa ta’-lamoon.

Lesson

An-Naaru – (The Fire) this word aims towards the Fire of Hell. It has been mentioned in the Holy Qur’aan at many places and the human beings have been cautioned in all the Heavenly Books of world. Nobody will be able to recommend anyone to be saved from the agony of the Hell. Neither the remuneration will do something and nor there will be any person too much powerful to save anyone.

‘Ayyaamam-ma’-duudah – (a certain number of days) the Jews had faith that they will be thrown into the Fire only for a few days. After that they will be brought out from it. Different numbers of days have been mentioned in their sayings. Some of them say it seven days, some other say for forty days. It signifies towards the days they did worship of the calf and some persons say that every evil doer will be kept into the Fire equal to his age.

The children of Israel supposed themselves beloved and fondlings of God Almighty. They used to discuss the favours and kindnesses of Him as certificate which He bestowed upon them from time to time. For this purpose they had invented many false sayings about it. Its proof was not available in their Book. One out of those invented false sayings and false traditions was, “they had faith that if the God Almighty gives them any punishment due to their sins that will be only for a few days. They will not remain into the Hell for ever”.

God Almighty asks from the children of Israel through His last Messenger (peace and blessings be upon Him), “Have you received a covenant from Allah” due to which He is compelled to complete it? Either you have invented these false things yourselves or you tell concerning Him that which you do not know. There is no reply of it instead that their all claims like this are only self made. They have no certificate of religion regarding these false speeches.

 LESSON # 90 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
The Paradise And The Hell
Verse – 81 & 82 of 286, Section – 10 (Part  - 1)

81.  Nay, but whosoever hath done evil and his sin surroundeth him; such are rightful owners of the Fire; they will abide therein for ever.

82.  And those who believe and do good works; such are rightful owners of the Garden. They will abide therein for ever.
81.  Balaa man-kasaba sayyi-‘atanw wa ‘ahaatat bihii kha-tiii-‘atuhuu fa-‘ulaaa-‘ika ‘As-haabun-Naar. Hum fiihaa khaliduun.

82.  Wallaziina ‘aamanuu wa ‘amilus-saalihaati ‘ulaaa-‘ika ‘As-haabul Jannah. Hum fiihaa khaaliduun.

Lesson

‘Ahaatat bihii kha-tiii-‘atuhuu – (his sin surroundeth him) it aims that they adopted the path of evil intentionally and then so rushed into the sins that there was no space remained for the Faith. This condition is of the people of infidelity (those persons who are unbelievers, disbelievers in the true religion and infidals).

‘Amilus-saalihaati – (they do good works) Good works are the necessary condition alongwith Belief for achieving the goal of entering into Heaven and for succeeding in this world. The good works are the works which a person acts in accord to the commands of the God Almighty.

The children of Israel had invented a lot of false fundamental articles of the religion and these faiths were being shifted from previous race to the next, for instance, “they are beloved and fondlings of God Almighty, they will not be punished on their sins and if they will be punished, that punishment will be only for a few days, and that their ancestors and forefathers will get them forgiven from the God Almighty”.

Behind the shade of these faiths those people used not to commit a mistake from any unlawful act or contraband character and they were involved in this false notion that it is not necessary for them to follow till now the religion and to believe the teachings of the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him).

God Almighty has refuted their false opinions in this verse, and commanded that dependence to be released is on two things:
•        The person would have faith on the God, the Most High.
•        Do good works.
That is to say, dependence of rewards and punishment is on having belief on the commands of God Almighty and acting upon them.

LESSON # 91 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Covenant Of The Children Of Israel
Verse – 83 of 286, Section – 10 (Part  - 1)

And (remember) when We made a covenant with the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none save Allah (only), and be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, and speak kindly to mankind; and establish worship and pay the poor-due. Then, after that, ye slid back, save a few, being averse.
Wa ‘iz ‘akhaznaa Miisaaqa Baniii-‘Israaa-‘iila laa ta’-bu-duuna ‘illallaah. Wa bil-waali-dayni ‘ihsaananw-wa zil-qur-baa wal-yataamaa wal-masaa-kiini wa quuluu linnaasi hus-nanw-wa ‘aqiimus-Salaata wa ‘aatuz- Zakaah. Summa Tawal-laytum ‘illaa qaliilam- minkum wa ‘antum-mu’-rizuun.

Lesson

Miisaaq – (Covenant, promise, pledge, consent, agreement, negotiation, treaty) this covenant of the children of Israel has been mentioned on many other parts in the Holy Qur’aan, it has also been mentioned in the Holy Books Torah and Gospel.

God Almighty tells the Children of Israel in this verse, “It has become your habit to turn your faces away from the commands of God, the Most High”. So they are being done attentive mentioning their famous covenant.

This covenant was taken by the God Almighty from the children of Israel that they would never do worship of any other thing except Allah Almighty, be good to parents and to kindred and to orphans and the needy, treat them politely and speak kindly to mankind; and establish worship and pay the poor-due. But these people slid back after making the covenant with God Almighty and could not complete it. There were only a few persons who completed their covenant and cared for their promise.

Alongwith it the God Almighty commands, “You slid back, being averse”. It means that they were the persons who used to turn away from their covenants and promises habitually and did not remain on it.

We should learn the lesson from this speech and the covenant which we have done with Allah, the Most High, “The Testimony, that there is none worthy of worship except ALLAH and Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon Him) is HIS Messenger”, we have to act upon the commands of Holy Qur’aan and sayings of the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon Him). We should pass our lives remaining in the circle of this Testimony. We should remember always this faithful promise.

 LESSON # 92 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Shedding Blood And Exilement
Verse – 84 of 286, Section – 10 (Part  - 1)

And when We made with you a covenant (saying): Shed not the blood of your people nor turn (a party of) your people out of your dwellings. Then ye ratified (Our covenant) and ye were witnesses (thereto).
Wa ‘iz ‘akhaznaa Miisaa-qakum laa tasfikuuna dimaaa-‘akum wa laa tukhrijuuna ‘anfusakum-min- diyaarikum summa ‘aqrartum wa ‘antum tash-haduun.

Lesson

Laa tasfikuuna dimaaa-‘akum – (Shed not the blood of your people) safak is matter of tasfikuuna that means to shed, to cause, to flow, and particularly to shed the blood. As a proverb this sentence aims ‘to kill’.

Talk of the Jews is chained with effect from fifth section of this Surah. The children of Israel had gone astray from their real religion. They used to change and make alteration in the Holy Book of God Almighty Torah, after hearing the commands of Allah Almighty and promising to fulfill it they used to slip from that covenant. They were involved in false and self-invented fidelities. They had doubt that wishing they do how many evils and sins, they would not be punished entirely, but their ancestors would get them saved from the Fire of Hell.

Refuting the false faiths of the children of Israel the God Almighty disclosed through the Holy Qur’aan, “which is the universal law of salvation”. Only those persons are entitled for the Paradise who believe on the Allah Almighty and do good deeds. Without them the person who is surrounded in the evils, howsoever he will enter into the Hell.

After talking about the law of salvation the God Almighty commanded the method to be the righteous and good servants of Him, and drew attention towards their covenant.

Allah Almighty made with them two more covenants: (1)   shed not the blood of their people. (2)    Not to turn (a party of) their people out of their dwellings. Because doing so the collective dignity and fear of the nation will go to end. The opponents will get opportunity to attack over them, get possession over them and become their rulers.

Then they ratified (God Almighty’s covenant) and they were witnesses (thereto).

LESSON # 93 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Breaking Promise and Disobedience
Verse – 85 of 286, Section – 10 (Part  - 1)

Yet ye it is who slay each other and drive out a party of your people from their homes, supporting one another against them by sin and transgression  --and if they came to you as captives ye would ransom them, whereas their expulsion was itself unlawful for you. Believe ye in part of the Scripture and disbelieve ye in part thereof? And what is the reward of those who do so save ignominy in the life of the world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be consigned to the most grievous doom. And Allah is not Unaware of what ye do.
Summa ‘antum haaa-‘ulaaa-‘i taqtuluuna ‘anfu-sakum wa tukhrijuuna fariiqam-minkum-min-diyaarihim; ta-zaaharuuna ‘alayhim- bil-‘ismi wal-‘udwaan. Famaa ja-zaaa-‘u many-yaf-‘alu zaalika minkum ‘illaa khiz-yun- fil-hayaatid-dunyaa. Wa Yaw-mal-Qiyaamati yuradduuna ‘ilaaa ashaddil-‘azaab. Wa mallaahu bi-gaafilin ‘ammaa ta’-maluun.

Lesson

Bil-‘ismi wal-‘udwaan – (by sin and transgression) ism means sin so aasim means sinner. Literal meanings of ‘udwaan are rebellion, violence and transgression. In this verse ‘udwaan is used for tyranny and oppression. From this sentence it is known that as the children of Israel used to kill and shed the blood between them or exile their compatriots and religion-fellows, which was not as per any principle but only due to sin and transgression. Which nation behaves like this with their own people, what a better behaviour that can do with others?

God Almighty warns the children of Israel in this verse, “We made with you a covenant (saying): Shed not the blood of your people nor turn (a party of) your people out of your dwellings.” But you oppose this covenant. You slay each other and drive out a party of your people from their homes.

During the times of Last Messenger (peace and blessings be upon Him) two tribes were populated out of the children of Israel ‘Banu Nazair’ and ‘Banu Quraizah’ in Madina and its vicinity. They used to remain busy in civil war/domestic quarrels habitually. Two tribes of the Infidels of Madina were also populated there. One of the tribes out of Jews used to become friends out of the one tribe of Infidels and the other of the other. Whenever the war used to start, slay and exile became their routine.

It is known from the history that after the Prophet Solomon (peace be upon Him) cruel contradiction grew between the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. Many people were slain during their wars. Resultantly their government was ruined. They became slaves of the others and compelled to pass their disgrace, infamy and ignominy lives.

Al-Kitaabu – (Holy Book) here it aims towards the Heavenly Book of the children of Israel named ‘Torah’. This argument is being established upon them that besides following the commands of Holy Qur’aan they do not obey their own Holy Book completely. They obey only those some orders in which they consider their own benefit. Which commands claim for sacrifice they put them behind themselves.

The Jews first of all used to exile their colleagues after fighting with them. Whenever they used to become prisoners of other nations, then the Jews set them free quickly paying compensation to show their sincerity, still it is fact that it was unlawful for them to exile their religious brothers. So it is found that they obey this order of Torah that the prisoners to be set free, but they do not obey this order that they should not be exiled.

Allah Almighty commands along with it, “And what is the reward of those who do so save ignominy in the life of the world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be consigned to the most grievous doom. And Allah is not Unaware of what ye do”.

LESSON # 94 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Life Of This World At The Price Of The Hereafter
Verse – 86 of 286, Section – 10 (Part  - 1)

Such are those who buy the life of the world at the price of the Hereafter. So their punishment will not be lightened, neither will they have support.
‘Ulaaa-‘ikallazii-nashtarawul-hayaatad-Dunyaa bil-‘Aa-khirati falaa yukhaffafu ‘an-humul-‘azaabu wa laa hum yunsaruun.

Lesson

Bil-‘Aa-khirati – (at the price of the Hereafter) it appears from study of the religious books of Jews that the Faith on Doomsday had not remained in their hearts. It is fact that concept of God Almighty and the Doomsday is main Check and prohibition from evil-doing and sinful life. If the human being has no thought about second eternal life, rewards/remuneration on good deeds and punishment on sins then there is no any method to resist him from sin and evil-doing.

Laa hum yunsaruun - (they will not be supported) its matter is nasara which means support, help. Ansaar (the supporters) is also from this word and the word Mansur is also from it that means victor and victorious. Meanings of the entire sentence are, “they will not be supported by any one to lighten their punishment”.

The Jews had fallen in this false suspicion that they wishing how much sins use to do, on the Day of Resurrection their ancestors and pious persons will reach to help them and save them from agony of the Fire. Now the God Almighty has cleared their false faith as wrong and stopped, and commanded that they will not be supported from any side.

Summary of previous verses has been narrated in this verse that the persons who disobeyed the orders of Allah, the Most high, turned back from their covenant after binding it and sacrificed their religion for their worldly benefits, followed the casual worldly relishes and tastes leaving the rewards, favours and kindnesses of the Day of Resurrection, they have bought casual comfort of this world leaving the welfare of the Doomsday. There will be much difficult calamity for them on the Day of Resurrection. Neither the wrath upon them will be forgiven nor will it be lessen. Those persons should know that no body can set them free and neither any body can help them. After death only the good deeds of each person will support him.
