whoso committeth sin committeth it only against himself

Lessons 551 to 562

Lesson # 551 From Holy Qur’an
Throwing Blame upon Any Innocent
Who Commits Sin, Commits it Against Himself
Accusing Someone Falsely
The Blame and the Calumny
Slander and Reproof
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verses –111 & 112 of 176, Section – 16/24 (Part – 5)

111.  And whoso committeth sin committeth it only against himself. And Allah is ever Knower, Wise.

112.  And whoso committeth delinquency or sin, then throweth (the blame) thereof upon the innocent, hath burdened himself with falsehood and a manifest sin.
111.  Wa  many-yaksib  ‘isman-  fa-‘innamaa  yak-sibuhuu  ‘alaa  nafsih.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  ‘Aliiman  Hakiimaa

112.  Wa  many-yaksib  khatiii-‘atan  ‘aw  ‘isman-  summa  yarmi  bihii  bariii-‘an-  faqadih-tamala  buh-taananw-wa  ‘ismam-mubiinaa.

Lesson

Yaksibu – (commits), its origin is kasaba and literal meanings are to earn, to commit, to work hard and to act. The subject Kaasib has also come out from it, which means the Doer. Here it has been used for the meanings of ‘to act, to follow and to commit’.
Yarmi - (throws), it is made from Ramii (literal meanings are ‘throwing arrows’). Here it aims ‘to accuse someone falsely’.

A law has been introduced in this verse which needs special attention and is very thoughtful, “If any person will commit intentionally any sin, the punishment of the sin will only be upon the sinner. Only his body and soul will bear the torment and loss, who committed the sin and he would have to suffer the result of the sin. None other person can be punished in his retaliation, who did not participate in committing that sin with him”.

Only such ruler or judge, who doesn’t know about the actual incident (that who committed the sin), can punish any other person, who did not commit the crime. And the supporters of the criminal saved him by providing false evidence and the lawyers by telling lies. And they caused to punish someone else by setting him to be fixed a criminal (through their attempts) in place of the real sinner. Such ruler or judge, who is unable to conclude correctly and who cannot use his wisdom soundly, he finalizes the decision immediately, in confusion, blind and unmannerly. Such ruler and judge cannot be called wise. Allaah Almighty is the Knower and the Wise. Such injustice is impossible in His Court that the crime is committed by one person and the other is punished. He can inform His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) about the real culprit, then what will be useful for the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) to release the thief and fix the blame of theft upon the head of an innocent person?

Further on, it has been described that if any person commits a crime (little or great), then he throws its blame upon someone else, he increased another crime in addition to his first real crime. Therefore he will be double sinner, one sin which he committed and the other that blame which he threw upon an innocent person. So he will be given double punishment from the Court of Allaah Almighty. Therefore without acceptance of the sin, repentance and seeking the Forgiveness of Allaah Almighty, the criminal has no form of exemption from the Grip and Torment of Allaah Almighty.

Lesson # 552 From Holy Qur’an
Dignity of Muhammad Mustafaa (peace be upon Him)
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verse –113 of 176, Section – 17/24 (Part – 5)

And had it not been for the Grace of Allah upon thee (Muhammad), and His Mercy, a party of them had resolved to mislead thee, but they will mislead only themselves and they will hurt thee not at all. And Allah has revealed unto thee the Scripture and Wisdom, and taught thee that which thou knewest not. And the Grace of Allah toward thee hath been great.
Wa  law-laa  fazlUllaahi  ‘alayka  wa  RahmatuHuu  la-hammat-taaa-‘ifatum-minhum  ‘any-yuzil-luuk.  Wa  maa  yuzil-luuna  ‘illaaa  ‘anfu-sahum  wa  maa  yazur-ruunaka  minshay’.  Wa  ‘anzalAllaahu  ‘alay-kal-Kitaaba  wal-Hikmata  wa  ‘allamaka  maa  lam  takun  ta’-lam.  Wa  kaana  fazlUllaahi  ‘alayka  ‘aziimaa.

Lesson

Fazlun – (Grace, Divine favor), real meaning of fazl is “Too much, more, excessive”, that is to say; to give someone anything especially with kindness, which is a special gift, and more than ordinary presents.
Yuzil-luuka – (to mislead you), it is from ‘Azlaal, which means “To push back any person from the Straight Path”.

When we shall connect this verse to our previous lesson, then it will be said as, “The Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) began to realize in His mind, when He listened to the witnesses of the real thief and their oaths for him. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) thought that these all people cannot provide false evidence. Due to their evidence it would have to be accepted that Ta’-mah is innocent”. But it was not acceptable to Allaah Almighty that His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) decide in favor of Ta’-mah and resultantly an innocent person (the Jew) is determined as thief willing or not willing.

It has been described in this verse, “O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! They had made up their minds to get wrong decision duly settled by (mislead) you, but Allaah Almighty informed you timely with His private Mercy and Kindness, and let you not determined as such, which was against the dignity of His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). They would have understood that by misleading you, they would succeed in getting wrong decision in favor of the thief. Do they not know that Your Protector is Allaah Almighty. He is Your Saver from to be misled. By intending to mislead you, they will never be able to harm You. They are hurting themselves by doing so.Allaah Almighty has revealed Holy Qur’an upon You and told You the truth. The Grace of Allaah Almighty toward You has been great, He will never let you mislead from the Straight Path. He has bestowed upon you so virtues and excellence, which have been surpassed most. And You have been given more knowledge and wisdom than entire other people. The conch people, who have inexpert knowledge, can never succeed in misleading you (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

Lesson # 553 From Holy Qur’an
Speaking in a Low Tone
Whispering
Reward for that Who Seeks Pleasure of God
Alms-giving, Kindness and Peace-making
A Low, Hissing Sound
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verse –114 of 176, Section – 17/24 (Part Three-Fourth of – 5)

There is no good in much of their secret counsels save (in) him who enjoineth almsgiving and kindness and peace-making among the people. And whoso doeth that, seeking the good Pleasure of Allah, We shall bestow on him a vast reward.
Laa  khayra  fii  kasiirim-min-naj-waahum  ‘illaa  man  ‘amara  bi-sadaqatin  ‘aw  ma’-ruufin  ‘aw  ‘is-laahim-bay-nan-naas.  Wa  many-yaf-‘al  zaali-kab-tigaaa-‘a  marzaa-tIllaahi  fa-sawfa  nu’-tiihi  ‘ajran  ‘aziimaa.

Lesson

Naj-waa – (stealthily consultation), it aims secret counsels and whispering. It has been disliked and prevented in the Holy Qur’an that some persons begin whispering with each other, while they are attending any multitude or congregation.
‘Is-laahun – (peace-making), to make peace between the two persons, who are quarreling with each other, it is from sulah, which means friendship, combination, agreement. It aims ‘to remove mutual wrangling’.

It was habit of some people that they used to say the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) something in a low, hissing sound in the meeting (multitude). Their intention was that the people should consider them frank and near friends of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and respect them. In this verse they have been exposed to view and the people have been educated about human nature in the best manner. If they act upon this advice then mutual suspicion, bad thoughts and doubts can never be born. The Commands of Holy Qur’an are Rules and Regulations of the highest grades for mutual friendship and good treatment. Those people will remain surely in superior positions in the world, who will abide by these instructions.

It has been described in this verse that the people who associate secretly and whisper in the meetings should not comprehend that they are saying something good. There is no goodness in this type of conversation. This method of chit chat has a defect in itself that due to conspiring between some persons only, while nobody else is permitted to participate in this speech of a low tone and other people are sitting around, will produce suspicion in their hearts. Particularly in the multitude, if one comes and talks in a low, hissing sound with someone sitting in the meeting, that other members of the multitude may understand that he is hiding something from them, then surely their thought will go worse from his side. And usually it will be considered that certainly he is talking against them. Therefore, such secret counsels are hurtful. There are only three forms when such type of whispering is suitable:

1.    If you want to give something to any needy, then it is better to be quiet instead of saying someone else, so that the needy might not be blushing and disgraced.

2.   If you wish to guide towards the goodness or tell any person about any particular matter, it is also better to speak with him in a low tone, so that he would not be ashamed before the people.

3.  Making peace between the two quarrelsome persons.
If this method is adopted to please Allaah Almighty and to get His Willingness, then He Commands, “We shall bestow on him a vast reward”.

Lesson # 554 From Holy Qur’aan
Enemies of Muhammad (peace be upon Him)
Opponents of the Messenger of Allaah
Way for Believer is the Way of Last Prophet
Disbeliever will be Exposed unto Hell
The End of a Hapless Journey
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verse –115 of 176, Section – 17/24 (Part – 5)

And whoso opposeth the Messenger after the guidance (of Allah) hath been manifested unto him, and followeth other than the believer’s way, We appoint for him that unto which he himself hath turned, and expose him unto Hell. A hapless journey’s end.
Wa  many-yushaaqi-qir-Rasuula  mim-  ba’-di  maa  taby-yana  lahul-hudaa  wa  yatta-bi’  gayra  sabii-lil-Mu’-miniina  nu-wallihii  maa  ta-wallaa  wa  nuslihii  Jahannam.  Wa  saaa-‘at  masiiraa.

Lesson

Yushaaqi-qi – (opposes), the origin of this word is mushaaqah, which is made from shaqq. Shaqq means ‘towards, and direction’. Here it signifies ‘making a new path, leaving the path of Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), and following the way other than the believer’s way.
Nu-wallihii – (We shall let him go), its origin is tawliit, which means “to appoint someone ruler upon himself, to give something in one’s possession”. Here it has been used for the meanings of ‘to empower’. Tawallii has also been made from the same origin. That is to say; which path he chose.

There is obvious publication in this verse about the punishment of that person, who does not obey the commands of the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Moreover, he becomes ready to oppose Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him); particularly in the form that while the Guidance of Allaah Almighty would have been manifested to him openly and obviously. And he would have certainly known that telling a lie, deceiving and imposture cannot be current in front of the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and Allaah Almighty is the Protector of Him to decide wrongfully. He told His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that the guilty is Ta’-mah, and the Jew Zayd is innocent. After that, it was duty of Ta’-mah to be abashed and agreed to the decision of Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), and adopted the way of believers, had bow his head before the Law of Islam. But he did not do so, but did against the order of Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and leaving the Muslims, chose a separate path.

It is the decision of  Allaah Almighty for such person that he is free to adopt any path, which he wishes in the world. But after death, when he will come back to Us (Allaah Almighty), because the Day of Resurrection will surely come, then We will expose him unto Hell. Alas! He did know that the Hell is very hapless place. Nothing will be attainable there for him except anguish, pain, suffering, distress, sorrow and torment, whose bad deeds cause to arrive him at the Hell. May we be protected from that place by Allaah Almighty. It has also known from this verse that the person, who will leave Islam for escaping from the worldly disasters, his abode is Hell.

Lesson # 555 From Holy Qur’aan
Ascribing Partner to God is Not Pardonable
God Shall Not Pardon, Who Assigns Partners to Him
All Sins are Pardonable Except Paganism
Whoso Ascribed Partners to God, Wandered Far Astray
Worshipping of Idols Will Never be Forgiven
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verse –116 of 176, Section – 18/24 (Part – 5)

Lo! Allah shall not pardon that partners should be ascribed unto Him and He shall pardon all save that to whom He will. And whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah hath wandered far astray.
‘InnAllaaha  laa  yag-firu  ‘any-yushraka  bihii  wa  yag-firu  maa  duuna  zaalika  limany-yashaaa’.  Wa  many-yushrik  BIllaahi  faqad  zalla  zalaalam-  ba-‘iidaa.

Lesson

The punishment for the person, who left the way of Muslims, opposed the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and adopted the path of polytheists, was described in the previous verse, that he will be thrown in to the Hell. He can do in the world, what he wants. At last he has to face his Creator Almighty. He should know that the place, which is ready for him and which he has elected for himself by adjustment with the polytheists, is very dreadful.

A common command has been issued in this verse that “Belief in a plurality of God Almighty” is such a sin, which will never be forgiven by Allaah Almighty. However, if any person remains in the circle of Islam and obeys His decisions, then Allaah Almighty can pardon, if He wishes, his all little and big crimes and sins of both types, which have not reached the stage of His partnership. For example, if Ta’-mah had not left Islam, and had not adopted the company of polytheists, who were opponents of the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), then there was a hope of pardon from the blame and theft. But after leaving Islam and choosing the path of polytheists, now he will never be forgiven, and his abode is Fire of Hell forever. There will be no form of coming out from the Hell by the persons, who denied the Unity of God Almighty and died upon polytheism.

Next order is that who ascribes plurality to Allaah Almighty, he wanders far astray, totally separate from that path which leads to Forgiveness and Mercy of Allaah Almighty. Surely the end of that path is Hell. The way of infidelity is entirely separate from pardon and pity. He doesn’t have any connection with absolution and mercy, who wanders far astray.

This verse has already mentioned earlier in this Chapter (Surah), but there it was description about the Jews, who used to claim, “We are private servants of God and children of a Prophet (peace be upon Him). We cannot be involved in torment and difficulties, and if even there would be, that would be only for a few days”. They were told there, “Open your ears and listen! Polytheists shall never be pardoned, while you are involved in ascribing plurality to Allaah Almighty, worship calf and say the Prophet Ezra (peace be upon Him) as son of God”. (Let us flee to Allaah Almighty).

Here the Muslims have been warned that the person, who ascribes plurality to Allaah Almighty, cannot trust in His absolution, and turning from His Command and obeying someone else is also polytheism besides worship other than Allaah Almighty, or believe in any person as His son or has anything His beauty. As that thief did in like manner that he turned from the order of punishment and adopted the association of infidels only for the purpose that with them there was no (worldly) punishment of his crime.

Lesson # 556 From Holy Qur’aan
Partnership by Polytheists
Idolaters’ Belief in a Plurality of God
Polytheism by the Infidels
Those, Who Deny the Unity of God
Satan Leads the Polytheists Astray
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verses –117, 118 & 119a of 176, Section – 18/24 (Part – 5)

117.  They invoke in His stead only females; they pray to none else than Satan, a rebel-

118,  whom Allah cursed, and he said; Surely I will take of Thy bondmen an appointed portion-

119a.  And surely I will lead them astray, and surely I will arouse desires in them, and surely I will command them so that they will cut the cattles’ ears-
117.  ‘Iny-yad-‘uuna  min-duu-niHii  ‘illaaa   ‘inaasaa.  Wa  ‘iny-yad-‘uuna  ‘illaa  Shaytaanam-mariidaa-

118.  La-‘ana-hUllaah.  Wa  qaala  la-‘atta-khizanna  min  ‘ibaa-dika  nasiibam-maf-ruuzaa.

119a.  Wa  la-‘uzillan-nahum  wa  la-‘umanni-yan-nahum  wa  la-‘aamuran-nahum  fala-yu-batti-kunna  ‘aazaanal-‘an-‘aami-

Lesson

Maf-ruuzaa – {appointed (portion)}, it is from Farz, which means ‘to fix, to appoint and to establish’. Here aim from maf-ruuz is ‘appointed, fixed’.
La-‘umanni-yan – (Surely I will arouse desires, put in hopes), it has been derived from the word manni-yah which means ‘wish, desire and longing’.
La-yu-batti-kunna  - (they will cut), this word has been made from the word batak, which means ‘to cut’.
‘An-‘aamun – (the cattle), it is from na-‘ama, which means ‘a beast’, that is to say; the quadruped (animals), which are brought up for working, like camel, ox, cow and horse etc.

Allaah Almighty is indicating the mankind to observe the wisdom of those people, who by turning from Him, seek support of stones, to which they have enominated like females. It is the last point of limit of their stupidity that they call such things and supplicate from them. Actually they have taken in the deception of Satan and in the screen of those things; they don’t call someone else but Satan. The reality of Satan is, that he (disobedient) has turned his face from the Command of Allaah Almighty and He has driven him out from His Royal Court. When Allaah Almighty determined the Devil as outcast, cursed and rejected, then Satan said, “Now I shall remain in trying my best to mislead the children of Aadam (peace be upon Him) from Your Prescribed Way (the Straight Way), by penetrating in to them, to whom I could control. They will pay gifts and oblations of my name; they will cut the ears of quadruped animals like camels, oxen, cows and horses etc. and set them at their liberty”.

 Lesson # 557 From Holy Qur’aan
Satan’s Dexterity
Associate of Satan is a Loser
The Devil Promises the People to Beguile
Habitation will be Hell for Satan’s Followers
Cleverness of the Devil
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verses –119b, 120 & 121 of 176, Section – 18/24 (Part – 5)

119b.  and surely I will command them so that they will change Allah’s creation. And whoso chooseth Satan for a patron instead of Allah is verily a loser and his loss is manifest.

120.  He promiseth them and stirreth up desires in them. And Satan promiseth them only to beguile.

121.  For such, their habitation will be Hell, and they will find no refuge therefrom.
119b.  wa  la-‘aamuranna-hum  falayu-gayyi-runna  khalqAllaah.  Wa  many-yatta-khizish-Shay-taana  waliyyam-min-  duuNIllaahi  faqad  khasira  khusraanam-mubiinaa.

120.  Ya-‘iduhum  wa  yumannii-him.  Wa  maa  ya-‘iduhumush-Shay-taanu  ‘illaa  guruuraa.

121.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ika  ma’-waa-hum  Jahannamu  wa  laa  yajiduuna  ‘anhaa  mahiisaa.

Lesson

Falayu-gayyi-runna – (they will change), this word is from the word tagayyar, which means ‘to change and to remove from its actual position’.
Guruuran – (cheater, the person who beguiles, liar), guruur is a thing of deception and it is called “to deceive”. That is to say; the thing, which is produced in the invented form and actually that is nothing, namely; deceit or captivation.

In our previous lesson, we reached the point that the Devil said, “Surely I will take an appointed portion of Your bondmen, lead them astray, arouse desires in them, and surely I will command them so that they will cut the ears of the cattle upon the name of stones and other weak things, and leave them for wandering independently upon the name of Idols”. Afterwards, Satan says, “Surely I will command them to change the face of Allaah’s creation, and oppose the Natural Laws and Established Orders prescribed by Allaah Almighty”.

It has been known from this discussion that it is exact will of Satan that the Orders of Allaah Almighty be disobeyed and the Divine Rules and Regulations should not be acted upon, but to do against these Instructions. As long as it may be possible, Satan elevates the mankind to do those works, which are forbidden by Allaah Almighty. Every human being is wheedled by him due to relish of only accidental pleasure beside him/her with joy, and the person harms oneself very severely, and after that one is afflicted in repentance and regret. But after a few days, cleverness of the Devil makes one again helpless and again the person accepts the deceitful behavior of Satan to complete ones wishes. Therefore, it has been warned that promises of the Devil are bundle of deceptions and captivating. No any real benefit can be gotten ever from them. The bondmen and bondwomen of Satan will never get any fruit except regret and shame, and it is the thing, which will appear in the form of Hell for them on the Day of Resurrection. They will be thrown like fuel into It, and there is no any habitation for them. They will not be able to run away anywhere from It.

   Lesson # 558 From Holy Qur’aan
True Promise of Allaah Almighty
None can be More Truthful than God
Well-doer and Believer will be transported to Gardens
Residence of Heavenly Persons
Gardens underneath Which Rivers Flow
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verse –122 of 176, Section – 18/24 (Part – 5)

And as for those who believe and do good works We shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. It is a Promise from Allah in Truth. And who can be more truthful than Allah in utterance?
Wallaziina  ‘aamanuu  wa  ‘amilus-saalihaati   sanud-khilu-hum  Jannaatin-  tajrii  min-  tahtihal-  ‘anhaaru  khaalidiina  fiihaaa  ‘abadaa.  Wa’-dAllaahi  haqqaa.  Wa  man  ‘asdaqu  mi-nAllaahi  qiilaa.

Lesson

Khaalidiina (original habitants), this word is plural of Khaalid, which means ‘everlasting’, that native person of any abode, who never thinks about migration from that place. Its Infinitive mood is khuluud, khuld is also from the same origin. That is to say; abode forever.
‘Asdaqu – (more truthful), it has been made from Sidq, which means ‘truth, purity and sincerity’. That is ‘Asdaq, who has gone forward from others during competition of the Truth.
Qiilaa – (`Saying), qiilaa and qawl have same meaning i.e. utterance, speech, promise, a vow, a word, agreement, affirmation or assertion.
There was description in the earlier verses about those people who have humiliated themselves towards the Devil and Satan is bringing them towards depravity, by ensnaring in false desires and untrue promises. Painful torment of the Fire will encircle them, from which, it will be out of their power to escape. On the contrary, the obedient of Allaah Almighty and His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) will be rewarded as retaliation of their obedience.

Allaah Almighty commands that the people, who believe in Him and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) whole-hearted, they subject their wishes according to the Orders of Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). They think before doing, “wherever the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has not prevented from it”? They are sure that their goodness and advantage can only be in the work, which has been permitted to do by Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), and that deed has not been forbidden by Them. They don’t bring their wisdom in any reckoning in comparison to Wisdom of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and fulfill their desires in the same manner, which has been determined for them by the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) in accordance with the Holy Book of Allaah Almighty. Opposite to this method, they do not have any concern with any other method and the works, which have been told by the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) to please Allaah Almighty, and which form has been confirmed to do that, they do them happily in that particular form, and they are not taken in misleading by anyone.

They take the Devil up their mind as their enemy and know that he guides them to fulfill worldly desires without let. But they do not come in his deception and having trust in the Promises of Allaah Almighty, they follow His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Their desires will appear after death in the form of Paradise for such people. They will be admitted in the Gardens to abide there forever in luxury and ease. It is the Promise of Allaah Almighty, which is entirely true and none can be more truthful than Allaah Almighty in utterance.

Lesson # 559 From Holy Qur’aan
Decisions are Not Finalized upon Desires
Wrong-doers will have Recompense
They will Enter Paradise, Who Did Good Works
No Mankind will be Wronged a Speck in Hereafter
None will find against God Any Protector or Helper
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)
Verses –123 & 124 of 176, Section – 18/24 (Part – 5)

123.  It will not be in accordance with your desires, nor the desires of the People of the Scripture. He who doeth wrong will have the recompense thereof, and will not find against Allah any protecting friend or helper.

124.  And whoso doeth good works, whether of male or female, and he (or she) is a believer, such will enter Paradise and they will not be wronged a speck.
123.  Laysa  bi-‘amaa-niyyikum   wa  laa  ‘amaa-niyyi  ‘Ahlil-Kitaab.  Many-ya’-mal  suuu-‘any-yujza  bihii  wa  laa  yajid  lahuu   min-duuNIllaahi  waliy-yanw-wa  laa  nasiiraa.

124.  Wa  many-ya’-mal  minas-saalihaati  min  zakarin  ‘aw  ‘unsaa  wa  huwa  Mu’-minun-  fa-‘ulaaa-‘ika  yadkhu-luunal-  Jannata  wa  laa yuz-lamuuna  naqiiraa.

Lesson

Yujza – (will have the recompense), this word has been derived from the word Jazaa, which means ‘retaliation’. The word ‘retaliation’ is used for both purposes i.e. Reward for them who did good works and punishment for wrong-doers.
Naqiiraa (a speck, an atom), as per Arabic language naqiir is a deep line in the Centre of the Stone of Date fruit. Due to this relation, here it signifies towards a worthless thing.

It was mentioned in the previous lesson that disbelievers and infidels turn away their faces from Allaah Almighty because they have been misled by the Devil, they name the idols like females and sacrifice their religious offerings upon them. Those people will be cast into the Hell and then they will never be able to come out from the Fire. It was also told that the Believers, who will do good works, the room for them will be made in the luxuriant Gardens of the Paradise. They will live there very comfortably forever.

Listening to this type of verses regarding reward and punishment, the Jews and the Christians used to say, “We do not have any concern with it because we are especial bondmen of God. The agony cannot touch us”. The Jews used to say, “We are (let’s flee to Allaah) sons of God. How can we be punished”? At the other hand the Christians have belief, “Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon Him) was hanged and He sacrificed His life as retaliation of our sins. Therefore, we would not be caught against our sins. No torment will touch us even if we do any kind of evil/sin”. All of them have been answered in these verses.

It has been directed that neither it will be in accordance with the boasting of the Jews and nor it will be in accordance with what someone else says. It is the principle that the person, who is evil-doer, will be punished for his/her sins and evils, and nobody can be his/her protecting friend or helper to save from the grip of Allaah Almighty. And who will do good works, will have pure belief, that person, whether of male or female, such will enter Paradise and they will not be wronged a speck, and there will be no any deficiency in his/her reward even equal to a seed of sesamem (til).

Lesson # 560 From Holy Qur’aan
Islam and the Tradition of Abraham (peace be upon Him)
Surrender Your Purpose to God and Do Good
God Himself Chose Abraham (peace be upon Him) for Friend
Whatsoever is in the Heavens and Earth, Belongs to God
Muslims Follow the Tradition of Abraham (peace be upon Him)
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4
Verses –125 & 126 of 176, Section – 18/24 (Part – 5)

125.  And who is better in religion that he who surrendereth his purpose to Allah while doing good (to men) and followeth the tradition of Abraham, the upright? And Allah (Himself) chose Abraham for friend.

126.  Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And Allah ever surroundeth all things.
125.  Wa  man ‘ahsanu  diinam-mimman  ‘aslama  waj-hahuu  LIllaahi  wa  huwa  Muhsinunw-wattaba-‘a  Millata  ‘Ibraa-hiima  Haniifaa.  Wattakha-zAllaahu ‘Ibraahii-ma  Khaliilaa.

126.  Wa  LIllaahi  maa  fissamaa-waati  wa  maa  fil-‘arz.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  bi-kulli  shay-‘im-Muhiitaa.

Lesson

‘Aslama  – (caused to bend downward, bowed one’s forehead), this word has been derived from the word Islam, the word Muslim is also from it. Islam means to admit the truth and to obey.
‘Aslama  waj-hahuu – (surrendered one’s purpose to), means accepted obedience and bowed one’s head humbly.
Muhsinun – (one who favors, a benefactor), the gracious and the kind, means the righteous and the good doer.
Haniifaa – it is from Haniif, which means ‘to be inclined, to bow down to one side’. Haniif  is also a Title of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him), here it means ‘someone, who adopts a true religion by leaving all self-invented religions.

It was the summary of the previous lesson, “Each religious group considers that its religion is the best”. They all expect that the rid will only be gotten by their religion, while remaining entire religions have no importance. It has been told in these verses that these (above mentioned) thoughts are useless, and taught that it is just like ‘self-praise is no recommendation’. If you are really seeking the truth, then listen a common rule by opening your ears and stop bragging.

One unbreakable rule has been prescribed for the entire human beings, whether they live in any part of the earth, and whether they call themselves the Jews, the Christians, the Muslims or something else, “As you sow, so you shall reap”. None should think that either their spiritual guides or relatives will save them from the punishment of their evil doings. As the Christians use to say, “Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon Him) has atoned against our sins by sacrificing himself and bearing pains. Now we are tensionless about any punishment. We shall not be caught for punishment, whatsoever we do”.

In these verses it has been described clearly that the true religion is only of those people, who have bowed down towards Allaah Almighty and have been acting upon His prescribed religious laws of Islam happily, and have accepted whole heartedly the Tradition of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him), the Upright, Who left everyone and Whom Allaah Almighty (Himself) chose for His friend. It is evident that those entire beauties are found only in the Companions (Razii Allaahu Ta-‘aalaa ‘Anhum) of the Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). After that, the final decision was caused to hear that “Unto Allaah Almighty belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And He ever surrounds all things”. Nobody can do any further before Him.

Lesson # 561 From Holy Qur’aan
Establishment of the Justice
Permission to Marry the Orphan Girls
Decree Concerning Orphans and Women
Providing Equity to Women and Orphans
Setting up Justice
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4
Verse –127 of 176, Section – 19/24 (Part – 5)

They consult thee  concerning women. Say: Allah giveth you decree concerning them, and the Scripture which hath been recited unto you (giveth decree), concerning female orphans and those unto whom ye give not that which is ordained for them though ye desire to marry them, and (concerning) the weak among children, and that ye should deal justly with orphans. And whatever good ye do, lo! Allah is ever Aware of it.
Wa  yas-taf-tuunaka  fin-Nisaaa’.  QuLIllaahu  yuftiikum  fii-hinna, wa  maa  yutlaa  ‘alay-kum  fil-Kitaabi  fii  yataa-man-nisaa- ‘illaatii  laa  tu’-tuuna  maa  kutiba  lahunna  wa  targabuuna  ‘an-tankihuu-hunna  wal-mustaz- ‘afiina  minal-wildaani  ,  wa   ‘an-taquu-muu  lil-yataamaa  bil-qist.  Wa  maa  taf-‘aluu  min-  khayrin-  fa- ‘innAllaaha  kaana  bihii  ‘Aliimaa.

Lesson

Yas-taf-tuuna – the origin of this word is ‘istaftaaa’, which has been made from fatwaa. Fatwaa means ‘permission, leave’. ‘Istaftaaa’  means to request for leave, to ask for permission’. Yaftuuna is also from the same origin, its source is ‘iftaaa’. ‘Iftaaa’ means ‘to give permission and leave’.
‘Al-mustaz- ‘afiina – (the weak, the feeble), it is plural of mustaz- ‘af, which has been derived from zu’f that means ‘weakness, debility’.

There was the command about orphans in the beginning of this Surah (Chapter), that was, “Bear in mind and care especially their rights”. Even that, those patrons of the orphan girls should not marry them, who may violate their rights. In view of this verse, some relatives of the orphan girls gave up to marry them. When they observed that those other people, with whom (who were not relatives) the orphan girls were got married, they gave them a lot of pain. Now the guardians felt, “If they had not been married with non-relatives, they would not have been put in trouble”. The people asked some questions also from the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) about this matter.

It has been described in this verse, “These people want permission to marry the orphan girls with their near relatives”. Tell them, “You are permitted for it. You were prevented earlier from this kind of marriage in the form that perhaps you could not perform their rights, your intention might be either to take possession of their wealth and property or you marry them for any other advantage of your own or they are given any loss in any matter. In this condition, to such orphan girl or helpless woman, truly you should not wed, for whom you are not answerable to anyone except yourself. Allaah Almighty has commanded again and again to do justice with the weak women and feeble children. He has adjudged also for the women and children as heirs and urged that the justice should be done fully with the orphans. It is the stupidity to act upon own wisdom before the orders of Allaah Almighty. You have goodness in the commands, given by Him from beginning to end. Bow your heads in front of His Orders. You do not have too much knowledge that you may think about your betterment. Your deeds will not be wasted by Allaah Almighty, which will be done by you in His obedience.

        Lesson # 562 From Holy Qur’aan
Do Good and Keep Away from Evil
Greed Has Been Made Present in the Minds
Wife’s Fear of Ill Treatment from Husband
Husband and Wife Can Make Terms of Peace between Themselves
Good Treatment with the Wife
Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4
Verse –128 of 176, Section – 19/24 (Part – 5)

If a woman feareth ill treatment from her husband, or desertion, it is no sin for them twain if they make terms of peace between themselves. And peace is better. And greed hath been made present in the minds (of men). And if ye do good and keep away from evil, lo! Allah is ever Aware of what ye do.
Wa  ‘inimra-‘atun  khaafat  mim  ba’-lihaa  nushuuzan  ‘aw  ‘i’-raazan  falaa  junaaha  ‘alay-himaaa  ‘any-yus-lihaa  bay-na  humaa  sulhaa.  Was-Sulhu  khayr. Wa  ‘uh-ziratil-‘anfu-sush-shuh.  Wa  ‘in  tuhsinuu  wa  tattaquu  fa-‘innAllaaha  kaana  bimaa  ta’-maluuna  Khabiiraa.

Lesson

‘Uh-zirat – (has been made present), and kept in front. Its base is ‘Ah-zaar, which means ‘to place before, to make present’. It is made from Hazuur, which means ‘to come near, to appear, to befall’.
Nushuuzan – (displeasure, ill treatment), it aims that if the wife seems that her husband remains dissatisfied a little from her. Disgust and aversion has taken place of love and good treatment, then it is no sin for her, if she comes near her husband and makes peace with him.
Shuha – (Greed), this word is also used for ‘ambition, avarice and covetousness besides vigorous desire.

Some other forms of behavior with the women and guidance about them have been mentioned in this verse, so that mutual relationship between the twain (husband and wife) may be good. It is commanded that if the wife observes that her life partner lives separately for a few days. His heart is felt revoked from her side, then there is no abashment in it if the wife adopts suitable policies to reconcile her husband. First of all, greed of wealth has been clung in the heart of everybody. Desire of profit has been attached with life. Therefore, if the wife inclines to reduce some money from her expenditures or becomes ready to lessen some amount from the amount incumbent on her husband (Mehr), then he will assent by beholding his financial benefit. The husband should also get ready to be united after observing the attempt of mutual adjustment from his wife, because welfare is in it that the twain (husband and wife) live together friendly and with peace mutually. Many causes may be of disposition, but they both should be ready every time to remove the position of disagreement. If one feels any sign of peace, even a very little, then the other should accept it immediately. It is no sin, if the wife causes to gain her husband and he accepts it. After that, it has been described that the men should treat the women well from the beginning and any chance of disagreement should not be born. It will be very good for both of them. Neither any deed, nor any intention of any person is hidden from Allaah Almighty. He is ever Aware of everything. As though, He guided the wife in this verse that she should sacrifice some wealth (even very less), and claimed from the husband that he should fear from Allaah Almighty and treat his wife well. Betterment of relationship needs first priority.
