Commentary
‘Any-yaqtuluuni – (that they will kill me).
Messenger Moses (peace be upon him) has been requesting: One man
from them was killed by my hands unintentionally. I fear that they will
slaughter me in his return and I would not be able to convey Your Message.
It was commanded by Allaah Almighty: They can do nothing
without My permission. You both {Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them)} should
go unto Pharaoh and say to him: We both are Messengers of the Lord of the entire
Worlds.
You should show him tokens bestowed by Us; if he disputes.
Moreover, We also are along with you every time. And We shall be hearing that what
will be discussed among you and Pharaoh. Say to him! Those oppressions and
tyrannies are entirely contrary to the humanity which you did upon the Children
of Israel. Let them go with us so that we may carry and populate them in their
homeland independently.
It was described earlier that with effect from the time of
Abraham (peace be upon him), he himself, his children, children of his children
and their children had been living in the country of Syria. Prophet Joseph
(peace be upon him) brought and colonized them in the country of Egypt. After him,
Pharaoh made them his slaves and used force against them bashfully. Now Moses
(peace be upon him) has come to get them released from the control of Pharaoh.
