The End of belief in a plurality
Chapter Kahf (The
Cave) – 18
‘A-‘uu-zu
Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ نَادُوا۟ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّوْبِقًا 52
وَرَءَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ٱلنَّارَ فَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُم مُّوَاقِعُوهَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا 53

52.
And (be mindful of) the Day when He will say: Call those partners of
Mine whom ye pretended; then they will call to them, but they will not hear
their prayer, and We shall set a gulf of doom between them.
53.
And the guilty will behold the Fire and know that they are about to
fall therein, and they will find no way of escape thence.

52. Wa Yawma
Yaquulu naaduu shurakaaa-‘Iyallaziina za-‘amtum
fada-‘awhum falam yastajiibuu
lahum wa ja-‘alNaa
baynahum- mawbiqaa.
53. Wa ra-‘al-mujrimuunan-Naara fa-zannuuu
‘annahum- muwaaqi-‘uuhaa wa
lam yajiduu ‘anhaa
masrifaa.

Commentary
Mawbiqun – (a gulf of
doom, destructive equipment), origin of this word is wa-ba-qa, which
means “ruin and destruction”, that is to say, such Fire will be produced
between them which will burn everything.
Muwaaqi-‘uu – (about to
fall therein), actually this word is muwaaqi-‘uuna, which is plural of muwaaqi-‘un.
This word has been derived from waqa-‘un, which means “to do”. Mawaaqi-‘atun
means “to fall into anything”.
Masrifu – (a place of
refuge and shelter), this word has come out from sa-ra-fa, which means “to
escape or place of safety”.
Holy Qur’an causes to know the
human beings that they should not love anything of the world save Allah
Almighty, otherwise on the Day of Resurrection, there will be a crowd of
confusions as great that they will be stunned. They will find no way of running
away from it. Allah Almighty will command: Call your those gods Today; whom you
used to ascribe partners of Mine during your life of the world.
Therefore, they will call them being
confounded but will find no answer from anywhere. Then their confusion will
increase more than earlier. And their hearts will be vexed beyond description. They
will suffer from extreme fever; as much that they will begin to see the Fire
everywhere. Then they will have certainty that “we would have to burn in this
Fire for always. There is no way of running out from it. Save Allah Almighty,
there is none who may protect us from it”.
It is the reason that the mankind is
being instructed in Holy Qur’an: Love Allah Almighty otherwise you will
be ruined.
