Omnipotence of Allah
Chapter “Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) -
23
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah
from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَلَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ 78 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ 79 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ 80

78. And He it is Who
hath created for you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye!
79. And He it is Who hath sown you broadcast in
the earth, and unto Him ye will be gathered.
80. And He it is Who
giveth life and causeth death, and in His hand is the alteration of night and
day. Have ye then no sense?

78. Wa Huwallaziii
‘ansha-‘a lakumus-sam-‘a wal-‘absaara wal-‘af-‘idah. Qaliilam-maa tash-kuruun.
79. Wa Huwallaziii
zara-‘akum fil-‘arzi wa
‘ilayhi tuh-sharuun.
80. Wa Huwallaziii
Yuhyii wa Yumiitu
wa lahukh-tilaaful-layli wan-nahaar.
‘Afalaa ta’-qiluun.

Commentary
Holy Qur’an desires to show the mankind that his
relationships with the world and with the people of the world will become
correct and he personally will gain his entire end at that time when he will
come to know Allaah Almighty and His epithets correctly. Without it, he
should not have any hope that he will pass actual successful life in the world
and will deserve ease and comfort after death too. It is a strange thing that
the mankind performs every work, but does not know Allaah Almighty. And
he does not admit that after death he will be reproduced. It is being informed
to him that he has eyes but does not use them properly, otherwise it is visible
clearly that Who did give power of looking, hearing and understanding to the
human being?
It is being commanded in this verse that Allaah Almighty
is He Who gave you ears, eyes and hearts so that you may use them properly. But
you do not use them correctly. You use their power at improper places. You
should listen to the commandments of Allaah Almighty, behold the tokens
of His omnipotence and believe in Him. It is the proper use of these three
things. Allaah Almighty did spread you everywhere in the world, then you
all will be gathered and produced before Him. He causes death and He gives
life. One famous portent of His omnipotence is that He has divided the Time in
two parts –Day and Night. To guess concerning the tokens of His Omnipotence,
causing death and reproducing, bringing day after night and night after day are
sufficient. You should understand from it that He can bring you again to life
after death. There is no reason of any doubt in it.
