Power is of Allaah

Chapter “’Ambiyaaa’” – (The Prophets) - 21

 ‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim. 
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

 فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍ وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌ مَّاتُوعَدُونَ 109  

إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ 110

 وَإِنْ أَدْرِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ 111

 قَٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ 112

109b.  And I know not whether nigh or far is that which ye are promised. 110.  Lo! He knoweth that which is said openly, and that which ye conceal. 111.  And I know not but that this may be a trial for you, and enjoyment for a while. 112.  He saith: My Lord! Judge Thou with Truth. Our Lord is the Beneficent, Whose help is to be implored against that which ye ascribe (unto Him).

109b.  Wa  ‘in  ‘adriii  ‘a-qariibun  ‘am  ba-‘iidum-  maa  tuu-‘aduun. 110.  ‘InnaHuu  ya’-lamul-jahra  minal-qawli  wa  ya’-lamu  maa  taktumuun. 111.  Wa  ‘in  ‘adrii  la-‘allahuu  fitnatul-lakum  wa  mataa-‘un  ‘ilaa  hiin. 112.  Qaala  Rabbih-kum  bil-Haqq.  Wa  Rabbunar-Rahmaanul-  Musta-‘aanu  ‘alaa  maa  tasifuun. (Part One Half)(Section 7)

    Commentary

It is commanded: Say to them! It is sure that every deed will be retaliated, however I don’t know that when it will happen. If your rudeness and violence crossed the line then you will be punished severely in the world also. And the righteous people may be bestowed with some fruit of their patience here too. The Creator of the universe and The Greatest Lord knows that which you say openly and He is Aware of that also which you say secretly. Say to them that you do not know “why the respite is being given to you. Perhaps it may be a trial for you that whether, even now, you understand it or otherwise?”

After conveying this entire Message, Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) supplicated in the Court of Allaah Almighty: Our Lord! Judge correctly among us and these arrogant infidels!

Then he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said to the infidels: Understand or do not understand! it depends upon you. Our Lord is The Great Beneficent. We complain before Him and seek His help against that which you threaten us and boast proudly. (Praise be to Allaah – Lessons from Chapter 21 completed).

The Invitation

Chapter “’Ambiyaaa’” – (The Prophets) - 21

 ‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

 وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ 107  

قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ 108

 فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍ وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌ مَّاتُوعَدُونَ 109  

107.  And We sent thee not save as a Mercy to all worlds. 108.  Say: It is only inspired in me that your God is One God. Will ye then surrender (unto Him? 109a. But if even then they are averse, then say: I have warned you all alike.

107.  Wa  maaa  ‘arsalNaaka  ‘illaa  Rahmatal-lil-‘aalamiin. 108.  Qul  ‘innamaa  yuu-haaa  ‘ilayya  ‘innamaaa  ‘Ilaahu-kum  ‘Ilaahunw-  Waahid.  Fahal  ‘antum  Muslimuun. 109a.  Fa-‘in-  tawallaw  faqul  ‘aazantukum  ‘alaa  sawaaa’.

    Commentary

‘Aazantukum – (I have warned you), ‘aazantu is past tense from the word ‘iizaanun, origin of which is ‘izn. ‘Izn means “permission” as well as “hearing and listening to also”. The word ‘iizaanun is its active, which means “to cause to hear”.

‘Alaa  sawaaa-’in – (equally of both sides, all alike), it aims: the result of virtue and evil, belief and infidelity (both sides) has been explained before you.

It was commanded previously that sovereignty depends on ability and skill of exercising authority. The Muslims should understand from it that Holy Qur’an has provided them opportunity of making themselves able to rule in the world. If they will abide by the commandments mentioned in Holy Qur’an, then they will always be rulers.

It has been commanded to the Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in this verse: By revealing this Qur’an upon you, We have made you Mercy to the people of the entire worlds. Every that person can acquire benefit from it who desires; by producing in oneself ability of governing in the both worlds. You should say to them also that skill of producing such ability is only “Tawhiid” (believing in the Unity of the Deity), that is to say, none should be worshiped and obeyed save Allaah Almighty. By the same Faith, capability of the mankind concerning overcoming all; increases. Speak out now! Will you embrace Islam or not?

After explaining so much clearly, if even then these people do not embrace Islam, then you should say to them: I have informed all of you completely about the meanings and consequences of goodness and badness. If you will not believe; then you will grieve and will be suffering from painful doom forever.

It was explained in the previous verses that all Prophets (peace be upon them) who came in the world, they taught the mankind only one way of passing the life in the world and educated concerning only one Faith. Found from it is that the entire human beings are one nation and they all should be agreed to the same Faith that our Lord (God) is Allaah, Who is One. He is The Creator and only He brings up. Therefore, every individual should worship only Him and abide as His obedient, but wishes and selfishness of the mankind did not let them remain firm upon the actual Religion, and every person became slave of own desires. Consequently, many sects were born among the human beings.

Now the human beings should understand it that every sinner will be punished according to own sins and errors. However the people who will do good works after having belief in accordance with the actual Faith, they will be successful, but those who will choose false faiths and die doing wrong; their End will be worse.

Remember it that this world will go to an end but the human beings will be given life again after death and the Day of Resurrection will be set up.

After that, a map of the Doomsday has been drawn in these verses that at first; the heavens will be rolled up as spread written documents and agreements etc. are folded at one place. It aims that everything will be finished. Afterwards, the world will be reproduced with effect from the beginning, and it will be prepared again as it was created first time.

Allaah Almighty commands that It is a Promise (Binding) upon Him which will certainly be fulfilled. Then it is commanded: A portion in the management and rule of the earth has been fixed for the mankind. Dominion of the world will be given to such people who will prove themselves able and deserving. By snatching the authority from unworthy persons, it will be given to those who will be capable more than them. This succession will run continuously until only unworthy people will be living in the world, then the world will be finished.

After that, it is commanded: If obedient servants of Allaah Almighty will meditate upon this Law of Heritage of the Government, they will find out the secret, which is that “Holy Qur’an has cleared the field for the Obedient of Islam, Believers and Worshipers of Allaah Almighty. And it has been caused to understand them clearly that by becoming true obedient of Allaah Almighty, they have full right to rule on the earth. Such kind of people will exercise their authority in this world as well as after death; they will inherit the earth of the Paradise also.

 يَوْمَ نَطْوِىٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَىِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِيدُهُۥ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ 104

 وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ 105

 إِنَّ فِى هَٰذَا لَبَلَٰغًا لِّقَوْمٍعَٰبِدِينَ 106  

104.  The Day when We shall roll up the heavens as a recorder rolleth up a written scroll. As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it. (It is) a promise (binding) upon Us. Lo! We are to perform it. 105.  And verily We have written in the Psalms, after the Reminder: My righteous slaves will inherit the earth; 106.  Lo! There is a plain statement for folk who are devout.

104.  Yawma  Natwis-samaaa-‘a  katayyis-sijilli  lil-kutub.  Ka-maa  bada’-Naaa  ‘aw-wala  khal-qin-Nu-‘iiduh.  Wa’-dan  ‘alay-Naa.  ‘Innaa  kuNaa  Faa-‘iliin. 105.  Wa  laqad  katabNaa  fiz-Zabuuri  mim-  ba’-diz-Zikri  ‘an-nal-‘arza  yarisuhaa  ‘ibaadiyas-Saalihuun. 106.  ‘Inna  fii haazaa  la-Balaa-gal-li-qawmin  ‘Aabidiin.

    Commentary

Natwii – (We shall roll up), origin of this word is tayyun, which means “to roll up”.

Sijilli – (scroll of written papers), it is a Noun from the word sajal, which means “to write”.

Kutubun – (writings, books), this word is plural of kitaab. Every written thing is called kitaab or maktuub. Here it aims “in the written papers”.

Saalihuun - (righteous people), this word is plural of Saalih, which is the Subject from the word sa-la-ha. From the same, words salah, salaah and masaalihat etc. have been derived. The meaning of Saalih has been taken as “righteous person”, but this meaning should not be taken limited. Saalih is that person who has natural ability and capacity, or by practice and effort he makes himself capable of doing good works and proves that he is deserving of it.

‘Al-‘arza – (the earth), it can be taken as a country, having power and opportunity of doing a work or taking work from others too.

Zabuur – (Psalms), it is a Scripture from Heaven which was revealed upon Messenger David (peace be upon him).

Zikrun (an Advice, a Reminder), actual meanings of Zikr are “Remembrance, reminding etc.”

Balaag – (a plain statement), here it aims “to find the actual object, that is to say, to know the actual matter”.

‘Aabidiin – (the devout, those who worship and obey the commandments of Allaah Almighty).

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٰٓأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ 101

 لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا وَهُمْ فِى مَا ٱشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَٰلِدُونَ 102

 لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ ٱلْفَزَعُ ٱلْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ 103

101.  Lo! Those unto whom kindness hath gone forth before from Us, they will be far removed from thence – 102.  They will not hear the slightest sound thereof, while they abide for ever in that which their souls desire. 103.  The Supreme Horror will not grieve them, and the angels will welcome them, (saying): This is your Day which ye were promised.

101.  ‘Innallaziina  sabaqat  la-hum-minNal-Husnaaa,  ‘ulaaa-‘ika  ‘anhaa  mub-‘aduun.  102.  Laa  yasma-‘uuna  hasiisahaa.  Wa  hum  fii  mash-tahat  ‘anfusuhum  khaaliduun. 103.  Laa  yahzunu-humul-Faza-‘ul-‘Akbaru  wa  tatalaqqaa-humul-malaaa-‘ikah.  Haazaa  Yawmu-kumullazii  kuntum  tuu-‘aduun.

    Commentary

Few people began to adore Angels or their Prophets (peace be upon them), whereas these Angels, Prophets (peace be upon them) or saints are from the favorite people of Allaah Almighty and they are disgusted from their worshipers. They did never say that they should be adored, but they forbade strictly from it, and they said always to worship Allaah Almighty only.

It is commanded: These people are already worthy of kindness from Our side. They will be kept away from the Hell; to such degree that they will not hear any slightest sound at the time of passing by the Straight Bridge (Pul-Siraat – according to Muslims Belief; a Bridge over which the Righteous will pass to Heaven). They will abide in the Gardens for ever as their minds may desire pleasures. When the Supreme Horror and Anxiety will be spreading all around, at that time they will be grieved not at all. The Angels (peace be upon them) will be welcoming them and saying: Today is the Day for you, which you were promised in the world.
