(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
66. (O mankind), your
Lord is He Who driveth for you the ship upon the sea that ye may seek of His
Bounty. Lo! He is Ever-Merciful toward you.
67a. And when harm
toucheth you upon the sea, all those whom ye call on (for succour) fail save
Him (alone).

Commentary
Yuzjii – (He drives). This word has come
out from ‘izjaaa-‘un, which aims “moving, going forward”.
Fulka –(Ship), it is used as singular and
plural (both).
In these verses, it is being informed to the human
beings that the devilish forces are desirous to ruin them and Allah Almighty
has given grace to the devilish forces that they can do their work, so that; which
power has been given to the mankind, may be tested. But these devilish forces
are never out of God’s control and sovereignty.
The people who will turn unto God Almighty, He will
save them certainly from their destructive effects. You can guess about the
Power of Allah Almighty from it that He saves you from great harms, and He drives
for you ships and boats upon the seas and rivers. And He prevented those forces
from your destruction which were desirous to ruin you. And you seek His Bounty
and Generosity after riding and moving on boats and ships, and you succeed.
Then why do you not get His support to save yourselves from Satan’s destructive
forces?
You should learn from it that when you fall in
dangerous storms of seas, at that time; you remember none except Allah
Almighty. While the traps of Satan are more destructive than the storms of the
sea, then why do you not incline unto Allah Almighty to save yourselves from
them?
