Commentary
Why Allaah Almighty has revealed such verses, meanings of
which can be related in several forms? It is commanded: After bestowing the
sense to the mankind, Allaah Almighty has made over this responsibility to
human beings that they should seek the Truth by their efforts; using their
sense properly. Satan misleads them and by creating doubts in their hearts, he
makes it difficult to search the Straight Path. On the other side, he incites
their evil wishes, which surround their senses from all around and causes to
understand them the same meanings of the Verses, which may be helpful in
fulfilling of those wishes. The same evil wishes are a disease of their hearts.
The people whose hearts are hardened due to adversity of wicked deeds, they
follow Satan and their sense becomes useless. Such people are transgressors. Ill-will
of the Truth, puts them far off from the Truth.
But the wise people use their sense and knowledge in the light
of Belief. They find the Truth and believe in it wholeheartedly. Their hearts
are not hardened. They accept the Truth easily and submit themselves humbly
before Allaah Almighty. In short, by Ambiguous Verses (Mutashaabihaat),
the mankind are examined that whether they find the Right Path or otherwise; by
using their sense correctly and saving themselves from the trap of Satan, in
the light of Clear-cut Verses (Muhkamaat) and Sayings of the Messenger
(grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)?
