just balance on the Day of Resurrection so that no soul is wronged in aught.
And though it be of the weight of a grain of mustard seed, will We bring it.
And We are Sufficient to take account.

Commentary
Mawaaziina – (the
scales, balances), this word is plural of miizaan, which is an
instrumental noun from the word wazan (weight). The scale will be only
one, but because the deeds of every individual will be weighed separately, so
it has been used here in plural form.
Qist – (equality,
level, exactness, just without violation of the rights of any individual).
It is being warned to the
mankind that whatsoever they wish to do in the world intentionally, they should
do after thinking carefully, and before doing any work they should consider
thoughtfully that whether the work under consideration is according to the
commandments mentioned in Holy Qur’an or otherwise. They should not do
any such work; by which there is violation of prescribed Orders of Holy Qur’an.
There are three fundamental principles of Islam i.e. (1) Believing in the Unity of the Deity (Tawhiid),
(2) Messenger-hood (Rasaalat) and
(3) the Life after Death. It is part of
the 3rd Principle that deeds of every person will be weighed in a
Just Balance during the next life (after death) on the Day of Resurrection. And
that Scale is This Holy Qur’an which will appear in the form of a Just
Balance on that Day. Nothing will be left without weighing from the deeds even
equal of the weight of a grain of mustard seed. Good deeds of whose will be weightier
than bad deeds (sins), that person will obtain deliverance. But whose sins will
be weightier than good deeds, will be punished properly.
Then it is commanded: We are
Sufficient to take account. Neither We need help of any other in this matter
and nor accounts will be reckoned after that. And it is better for you that you
should do all works according to the commands of Holy Qur’an, so that
you may escape easily on the Day of Resurrection.
