Commentary
Mahaariibun – (synagogues, elevated chambers, mosque),
this word has passed in Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan.
Ta-maasiila – (statues), it is plural of the word timsaalun,
which means “to draw a figure of any thing or any animal etc.
Jifaanun – (basins, bowls)
‘Al-jawaabu – this word is plural of jaabiyatun,
which is the Subject from the word jabiyun. Jabiyun means “to
deposit, to gather”. Jaabiyatun means “the place where the water is collected
as a reservoir, an artificial pond,
tank”.
Quduurun – (boilers, kettles, big pots) this word
is plural of qidrun.
Allaah Almighty had subjected the jinn to Prophet Solomon (peace be
upon him) who used to remain engaged; according to his command and desire; in constructing
the elevated and big buildings, chambers, mosques, and making statues, basins
of copper and kettles – which were kept on fireplaces. Accordingly, a majestic
Mosque named “The Temple of Jerusalem” (Baytul-Muqaddas) was constructed
by their hardworking.
After bestowing all such things and power to Solomon (peace be
upon him), Allaah Almighty commanded to his family: Take work from these
entire things but be thankful to your Lord by your tongues and hearts. You should
work in such a way which should be helpful in obedience of the Commandments of Allaah
Almighty. You should not construct great buildings for playing, games and
amusement. You should make such things by which the creatures of Allaah
Almighty may reap advantage and it should be helpful in the worship of Allaah
Almighty.
