Importance of the Prayer
Chapter TAA-HAA – Surah – 20)
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْعَلَيْهَا لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًا نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ 132
|
132b. We ask not of
thee a provision. We provide for thee. And the sequel is for righteousness.
|
132b. Laa Nas-‘aluka
rizqaa. Nahnu Narzuquk.
Wal- ‘Aaqibatu lit-Taqwaa.

Commentary
It was commanded in the previous verses that the result of
thinking for collecting wealth, being engaged in worldly matters and
amusements; is not good. If the mankind continued fulfilling their worldly
desires only and forgot Allaah Almighty, then He will forget them on the
Day of Resurrection.
Then it was commanded: Sequel of being careless from The Lord is
very bad and that would have been given even in this world, but He expediently
has postponed it until the Last Day. However, when the rebellion of the people
crosses the line, then they are chastised even here (in the worldly life) too. But
full punishment will be given on the Doomsday.
After that, it was commanded: You should be present regularly in
the Court of Allaah Almighty according to instructions for keeping His
remembrance fresh at prescribed times (of prayer). You should not worry if due
to worship of your Lord, you have to bear any loss in the earnings of the
world, and you should never fall short in His remembrance. He will give you
abundant with His mercy. That will be more and lasting than wealth and dignity
of the world.
After that, The Creator commands: You are Our slaves. We do not
demand from Our slaves that they should earn for Us as the people of the world
demand from their servants/slaves. We provide food for the entire living beings
from Our Self. Your only duty is to establish Our worship (prayer) regularly
for keeping Our remembrance constant. Offering prayers at prescribed times
regularly will be helpful in passing the life at righteousness. Remember it! That,
which follows the righteousness, is good. Sinful and corrupt people will weep
and lament due to their evil deeds.
