4. Allah hath not
assigned unto any man two hearts within his body, nor hath He made your wives
whom ye declare (to be your mothers) your mothers, nor hath He made those
whom ye claim (to be your sons) your sons. This is but a saying of your
mouths. And Allah saith the Truth and He showeth the Way.

Commentary
Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and
peace be upon him) and by means of him, all Believers have been instructed that
the sayings of the Disbelievers and the Hypocrites are not able to be obeyed,
because they have been entangled in ignorance. Their sayings are afar from the
truth. Allaah Almighty is Well Aware of the conditions of all things and
their reality. Hence, whatsoever will He command, will depend on the Truth.
In this verse, their meaningless faiths and traditions have been
disclosed. They often say concerning a wise and intelligent person that he has
two hearts. This is only verbal and supposed matter. Allaah Almighty has
not kept two hearts in anyone’s body.
Like this, their faith that if any husband said mother to his
wife; she became his mother, is quite wrong. Moreover, if the wife said son to
her husband; then he became really her son, is also entirely contrary to fact. Sayings
of all such kinds are verbal matters, which do not happen.
There is no artificiality or fabrication in the Commandments of Allaah
Almighty. Those are entirely true and real. Whatever any mankind says by his tongue,
it does not become law.
However, whatsoever Allaah Almighty says, that becomes
Law for the mankind.
