Commentary

Continued from the previous lesson:

8.                      To fast, that is to say, to stop oneself from fulfilling own lawful desires up to a prescribed time in accordance with the Commandment of Allaah Almighty.

9.                    To guard one’s private parts, that is to say, to control, against the rule, personal sexual desires.

10.                    To remember Allaah Almighty often, that is to say, remaining most of the time in the remembrance of Allaah Almighty.

Those men and women who will act upon above mentioned Ten Commandments, Allaah Almighty has made ready for them forgiveness and vast reward.

After that, it is commanded: while you, whether you are a man or a woman, have promised that you will obey the Commandments of Allaah Almighty, then you should listen to it carefully that now you are not allowed to argue or dispute in such matters which Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) have commanded to do. Now you should abide by their Instructions without practicing delay or showing contrary reasons.

It is an introduction of that incident by which an older tradition was effaced. And it was the will of Allaah Almighty that along with the verbal Instructions, that tradition should be shown finished practically. Therefore, those people have been warned, by whom this tradition would be effaced, that they should act upon such instructions for which Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) command to do.
