Commentary
Sarfun – (to avert), it aims: Neither you can change your talk and nor
put off your punishment.
Nasrun – (to help, to obtain help), that is to say, neither you can
help one another together and nor obtain help. Upon whom you relied that they
would help you i.e. your false gods, they have given you a point blank refusal.
When idol-worshipers will hear the answer of their false and
self-fabricated gods on the Day of Resurrection in the full Court of Allaah
Almighty, then it will be commanded to them: Now tell me what you say! To whom
you used to call as your gods in the world, of whom you used to soother with
praises and praise in songs, they have given a point blank refusal, and they
have falsified you clearly. They have been saying: our Lord! We were in the
world with Your Support, otherwise we were nothing. How could we say that they
should worship us instead of You? While we had no personal benefit in their
adoring then why would we had to mislead them? They tell a lie that we are
their gods.
Speak now! You have said in the worldly life: Who has seen Allaah
Almighty? Our gods are these great people of the world, after them their idols
or their names and signs. They provide us everything so we shall beg from them
and bow our heads before them. Look! Everything has been recorded in your Character
Book. Now you can neither turn from your sayings and nor avert the doom from
yourselves. See! Your gods have left you. Now you have no helper or protecting
friend, so go to the Hell!
