have chosen (other) gods beside Him though they bring no clear warrant (vouchsafed)
to them. Then who doth greater wrong than he who forges a lie against Allah?

Commentary
Sultaan – (strong proof, warrant,
authority, a document).
‘Iftaraa – {(they) forged}, it means
“to lift up any false, self-fabricated thing”.
After it they said: Behold our folk! They have been
dull of understanding that they adore lifeless idols, leaving Allah Who is such
Omnipotent that He brings up the entire living beings, provides every thing to
every needy with His kindness, there is no end of Whose generosity, Whose pity
and bounty is countless and unlimited. They do not have any proof of infidelity
and belief in a plurality of God Almighty.
Those people who believe in Allah Almighty, have
clear and a great proof of it that God is only One. The proof is that “every
that thing seems helpless whatsoever we see. Neither any living thing can live
with own will and nor can die itself, neither can grow and nor can go down at
its own. In such condition, having expectation that these helpless creatures
will help someone, which do not have any power of moving even a little, is
contrary to the human sense.
The actual matter is that their trifling vision and
baseless thoughts have seized their sense and entangled them in absurd
imaginations. They have considered that this entirely baseless matter is real.
Though, their sense itself will depose clearly, if fortunately it comes out
from the confusions of false imaginations, that it is a lie to make any lifeless
thing adored beside Allah Almighty. Then who will be greater violent than them?
