Surah ‘Al-Hijr - (The Rocky Tract) -
15
‘A-‘uu-zu
Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ 16
وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍرَّجِيمٍ 17 إِ
لَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ 18

16. And verily in the
heaven We have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for
beholders-
17. And We have guarded
it from every outcast devil-
18. Save him who
stealeth the hearing, and him doth a clear flame pursue.
|
16. Wa laqad
ja-‘alNaa fis-sa-maaa-‘i Buruujanw-wa zayyan-Naahaa lin-naa-ziriin.
17. Wa hafiz-Naahaa min-
kulli Shay-taanir-rajiim.
18. ‘Illaa manis-taraqas-sam-‘a fa-‘atba-‘ahuu shihaa-bum-mubiin.

Commentary
Buruujun – (mansions
of the stars), this word is plural of Burj. Burj is that part of
any higher building, which is constructed most apparent. Here it aims – big
stars or their accumulation in any form.
‘Is-taraqa – (flew away with stealthily),
it is past tense from the word ‘istaraaqun, origin of which is saraqa.
Saraqa means to steal. ‘Is-taraqas-sam-‘a means – after hearing
secretly some conversation, they flew away.
It is commanded: Sufficient signs exist in the
universe; which are proof of Existence and Power of Allah Almighty. If we direct
our eyes above at night, the entire space will be seen full of glittering
stars. We look their big clusters spreading far and near, and those seem very
beautiful to the beholders.
Think for awhile! Who decorated this long and wide
space with such bright bulbs? And Who guards them? Wicked and mischievous
devils move continuously to and fro in their neighborhood, but they are unable
to pay any flying visit of them. Obedient Angels of God Almighty (peace be upon
them) remain waiting of His Command in the space. And they execute the
commandments which are revealed unto them by Allah Almighty.
The devils are desirous to break, distort those Orders
after knowing and ruin the arrangement of the universe. So clear flames pursue
them and they run away. If they are saved from burning, then whatsoever they
hear during running away, they expand it into their supporter astrologer and
astronomer human beings; by changing its form.
