Messenger of God has come to make all things Plain

Lesson # 607 From Holy Qur’aan
Messenger of God has come to make all things Plain
Surah Maaa-‘idah (the Table Spread) – Chapter – 5)
Verses–18&19 of 120, Section–3 of 16 (Part–6)–Stage - 2
 BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

18.  -The Jews and Christians say: We are sons of Allaah and His loved ones. Say: Why then doth He chastise you for your sins? Nay, ye are but mortals of His creating. He forgiveth whom He will, and chastiseth whom He will. And Allaah’s is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and unto Him is the journeying.
19.  O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our Messenger come unto you to make things plain unto you after an interval (of cessation) of the messengers, lest ye should say: There came not unto us a messenger of cheer nor any warner. Now hath a Messenger of cheer and a warner come unto you. And Allaah is Able to do all things.

Lesson

‘Ahibbaaa-‘Uh – (His loved ones), it is plural of habib, which means “friend, fondling and caressed”.

The Jews and the Christians used to consider themselves noble than all other people. When they reached between the simple people of Arab, they also accepted them generally as respectable. These so called superior people used to tell them their stories. At that time, when Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) Messenger of Allaah Almighty came and told the Arabians their evil deeds, then they were weary. Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) frightened them from the punishment of Allaah Almighty and said, “Now you cannot get respect until you do not obey Me”. Later, their scholars said, “You should tell these Sayings to your nation-fellow Arabs. Our dignity is very high”. Even they said, “We are sons of God, His beloved and chosen people”.

We have recited in Surah Al-Baqarah and then in Surah Aali-‘Imraan that the Jews used to say, “We shall not be given punishment of Fire. And if that was, that would be only for a few days”. There they were replied, “Show that contract, in which it has been written that you would be saved from the anguish”. In Surah Aali-‘Imraan it was told that “Those descriptions have put them in deception, which have been included in the religion by themselves”. They have been responded in this verse as reply of their haughtily saying so, “We are intimates and fondling of God”.

It has been indicated here, “If, your saying so (we are loved ones of God) is correct, then why are you punished in this world? Sometime you are ordered to kill each other, at another time you are fallen into plague. It is apparent that you are also mortals of His creating (humankind like others) and you fall too under the same principle (He forgiveth whom He will, and chastiseth whom He will), because Sovereignty of the heavens, the earth and all that, which is between them, is of Allaah Almighty only. No creature can postpone His Order and unto Him is the journeying of the entire creatures including human beings. Loved ones (servants) of Allaah Almighty are only those persons, who do good works and ward off sins, evils and bad deeds due to fear of His punishment. It is promise of Allaah Almighty with them that they will not face any distress, grief or sadness on the Day of Resurrection.

Fatratun – {to be lazy, to become loose, an interval (of cessation)}, fatuur is also from it, which means “deficiency, reduction, loss”. If something has been happening constantly, and then it has been stopped and its act of continuing has been suspended, this process of suspension and stoppage is called fatarah. And the period, during which it remained suspended, will be called “The Time of Fataratun”. No Messenger/Prophet had come since nearly six hundred year, after the Prophet Christ (peace be upon Him) and coming of the Prophets/Messengers was ceased. It is called Fataratun. Here it has been described that “The Messenger of the end of time, that is to say; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), Last Messenger of Allaah Almighty has come now unto you after an interval (of cessation) of the messengers. Believe in Him and obey Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

It has been described in this verse, “Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has come unto you for the purpose, “to tell about the good news to the good people and to warn the evildoers about their punishment”. As per Arabic language, Bashiir is the Cheer and Naziir is the Warner. Therefore, every Messenger’s title is Bashiir and Naziir (peace be upon Them). This verse discloses that in future none can say, “No Bashiir (Cheer) and Naziir (Warner) came towards us”, because this Last Messenger of Allaah Almighty, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has come in the world, Who is also Bashiir and Naziir. Neither the world can be arranged, nor Hereafter without obeying Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

At the end, the People of the Scripture have been threatened, “Remember! Allaah is Able to do all things. If you will not believe, He can bring into being more Believers of His religion, emitting you and can deprive you from His Mercy due to your wicked deeds”.
