Commentary
Hukmu – (power of decision), this power appears into mankind then;
when he acquires quickness of perception concerning understanding the matters
and the Truth. Therefore the aim from hukmu is “knowledge of the reality”.
Moses (peace be upon him) says to Pharaoh: I was well aware of
it that you used to tyrannize the Children of Israel. I did know that you were extreme
due to your power and you would not accept my excuse by investigating the
matter carefully, but you will order to kill me without proper judgment and by
deciding blindly. So I feared from you and your people; and ran away.
The circumstances, which happened with Moses (peace be upon him)
after running away from the Country of Egypt, have not been mentioned here. It will
be explained in Suratul-Qasas and some incidents have been described in Surah
Taa-Haa that “when he (peace be upon him) reached Median after running away
from Egypt and became servant of Prophet Shu-aib (peace be upon him),
who got his daughter married with Moses (peace be upon him). He served there
for complete ten years. Then he (peace be upon him) departed from Median. In the
way, he was passing by Aiman Valley that he saw a Light on the Mountain
before him. He went toward the Mountain for getting fire and instead of fire;
he (peace be upon him) was bestowed with the Prophet-hood.
From here, series of circumstances concerning the answer of Moses
(peace be upon him), which has been described in the above mentioned verse, begins
again. He (peace be upon him) said: After fleeing from here, some days later, Allaah
Almighty Who is my Lord, bestowed to me wisdom and sense. He included me also along
with my brother too in the lineage of His those Messengers (peace be upon them),
who came in the world to deliver His Message unto the human beings. Therefore we
both have come unto you by His Order. Now you should believe in it that the
Lord of the Worlds is the Lord of all of you too. You should give up oppressing
and set the Children of Israel free, so that I may convey them and settle them
in their home-land peacefully, and organize them in accordance with the
Commandment of Allaah Almighty.
