(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)
4. And We never sent a
messenger save with the language of his folk, that he might make (the
message) clear for them. Then Allah sendeth whom He will astray, and guideth
whom He will. And He is the Mighty, the Wise.

Commentary
This verse does
imply that “Allah Almighty has fixed a Rule that in which nation; any Messenger
(peace be upon him) is sent, He should know the language of that entire nation,
because the aim of sending a Messenger (peace be upon him) is that He may cause
to understand the people; commandments of Allah Almighty. After understanding,
if they are fortunate then their hearts will be fond of obedience. But if they
are stubborn then they will not obey.
Allah Almighty
arranges for the same; which, the nature of any individual demands. No human
being is liable to any such responsibility, capability of which does not exist
within him. This law is in force in the world and it has been made by Allah
Almighty, Who has Power over everything and is Aware of the philosophy of
everything. He has established the System of the universe very carefully.
We can perceive
from this discussion that the actual thing is “Understanding the Message of God
Almighty”. The language is only a source of its deliverance. Real purpose of
Holy Qur’aan is not fulfilled by reading and remembering its words only.
It is necessary to understand its meanings also, and if one is unable to
understand himself; then he should know its meanings by asking from those who
can explain.
