The Miracle

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

  

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

When idolaters of Makkah were caused to know in the Holy Qur’aan that the Original Human Religion is that which is mentioned in the Holy Qur’aan and Muhammad (grace, blessings and peace be on Him) is Messenger of Allah Almighty. That religion; on which you are set up and which was adopted and instituted by your ancestors, is totally wrong. These idols and statues which you consider that they are your worshipped and you adore them, neither they can hurt you and nor profit. These are quite helpless stones only or statues of stone. They do not have any power or strength of moving or thinking.

After hearing it; the idolaters of Makkah began to say: O Muhammad (grace, blessings and peace be on Him)! How can we believe that you are a Messenger sent by Allah? You should ask for any such portent from your Lord and show us which should be quite a new one and no human being may show it except you. Produce quickly any flowing spring by splitting the land through inactivity, OR a ready garden of ripened fruit, underneath which the rivers should be flowing on all directions, OR let the broken sky fall on us, OR say to your Allah to be manifest with pomp and show before us along with His Angels, OR build a glittering golden house for yourself OR climb up to the sky and bring down any written and ready book etc. In short, Show us any such thing; showing of which is not possible by any human being, which is called “a Miracle”.

As a reply, Holy Qur’aan says: Duty of Our Messenger is to guide the people. We have sent Him unto you along with a Book i.e. Holy Qur’aan. None of you can write any book like This, Composition of Which is extreme Eloquent, and in Which entire matters of human WELFARE have been added for all times, and nor any individual of the world will be able to bring any book like This (Qur’aan) in future. Is it not sufficient as a proof of Messenger-hood?

It you don’t believe, you will see in future that this Scripture shall be prestigious in the world and Its opponents will be disgraced. The person who turns his full attention unto the spirituality, astonishing wonders happen by him spontaneously which is called supernatural power and miracle. The Miracles of the Messengers (peace be upon Them) are extraordinary. The Prophet (grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) is the most perfect Mankind, and like His Miracle; cannot be of any other human being.
