Lesson

When Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was lodging in Makkah, the Muslims had shown incomparable endurance and stability on causing troubles by the Idolaters. Likeness of such patience and steadiness cannot be found in the history of the world. Usually it is observed in the world that whenever someone troubled any other, he returned and punished the tyrant severely. If he was powerful, he threw an adversary on the back of the opponent, but if he was weak, then he stood in awe.

It was a common rule in the world “Kill or die”. This custom was in Arab also and it was the only sign of valor, bravery and nobility. Those people who believed in the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), ultimately they were Arabians. How much it was difficult for them to be patient against their old habit?

But they were commanded by God Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Bear all calamities from the hands of the infidels and mourn not due to it. If you are compelled to leave your houses and business, leave it without hesitation, but you should not quarrel. What was the reason of it?

Its first reason was that Islam, which has come to unite those people who were quarrelsome. If its beginning is with peace instead of war then it is better. The second reason was that if the idolaters do not accept the way of peace and lay but to stake upon their crooked behavior, then anyhow, the Muslims would have to fight against them.

Giving the command of “Patience” to the Muslims; they were being trained: You should not fight like the ignorant, stubborn and revengeful people, but fight thoughtfully according to the commands of God Almighty and instructions of His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) tried His best for peace and reconciliation, when He was living in Makkah, but haughty and stubborn infidels did not listen to Him. At last, after emigration to Madinah, the Muslims were commanded: Those people will not admit in such way. You would have to make your own way; being separate from them.

That person, who will think in it carefully that the Muslims were tyrannized very harshly, and they did not oppose the tyrants for thirteen years, and tolerated all difficulties, he will not remain in any doubt that Islam did not desire to fight but it wished peace and safety along with the entire people.
