Lesson
It has been being described in the
previous verses that the humankind casts behind the Commands of Allaah Almighty by indulging in embarrassment
of his own desires. He/she never thinks: I would have to get the retribution in
the life after death for those deeds, which I have been doing in this world,
and I would have to be set before Allaah
Almighty and answer His questions. And it will never be possible either to
cheat Him or try to be saved from His punishment by providing any false
statement before Him. An abstract to this effect has been given in the verse of
today’s lesson, and complete reality of the life of this world has been
described briefly.
It is commanded that the
life of the world is Naught but only a pastime and a sport. Every person who
has sense whether only a little, can understand easily that any sport is the
name of amusement for a short time. It is impossible to play every time. Everyone
should understand properly that the world is an accidental thing for a few
days. Neither any person could live in it forever, and nor can stay.
That person, who has been involved
in only worldly works and passes his/her entire time for thinking about worldly
benefits only, is like him, who wastes his whole time in a sport. Any wise
person cannot say him “a useful, laborious or active person”. And then it is
also certain that any time he/she is weary of playing. Such a condition is of
that person, who has been entangled in the world. Many desires grow in his
heart. He runs behind all of them and wishes to keep his pleasure stable. But after
some time either he is tired of it or after fulfillment of the desire his heart
is disgusted and he feels ashamed on his deed. Even he reaches at last such
stage that his strength becomes disabling. Being wearied he lies down and does
not remain able to fulfill his wish. He uses to long for fulfilling his
desires, but his strength and power do not cooperate with him.
Contrary to above, neither will he
feel ever tired of fulfilling the desires, which will be for the life of the
Day of Resurrection, nor his power and strength will end, nor any weakness,
illness, grief, sorrow, confusion and nor will death-like anything be the next.
That life can be acquired only in this manner that the person should fear from Allaah Almighty, which means that “having
fear of His punishment, every forbidden thing and deed should be given up in
the world”. And better far is the abode of the Hereafter for those who keep
their duty to Allaah Almighty. Have you
then no sense that you would have to choose the perpetual thing by leaving any
casual thing?
